If you spend that much money for a car and then complain about the $1,000 or so to replace a key, all I can scratch up for you is a Boo; seems like neither one of us can afford the Hoo.

She bought the car used. She got one key. She is making $200 a month payments on the car, pays $900 a month rent on her apartment, about $200 more for utilities, another $100 a month for gasoline, and has to feed and clothe herself and her son... and earns about $1600 a month. This is a disaster for her.

Why don't you send her the $1000?

Sounds like she could use a good husband who can fix up a 1994 Dodge Colt for about $1200 and some blood, sweat, and tears. It’s got new belts, hoses, tires, alignment, oil leaks fixed, synthetic oil intstalled - should run 100,000 reliable miles.

My wife and I just can’t see running a new vehicle on the gravel roads we drive that’s the main reason for driving beater vehicles. Plus I’d rather have the kids crunch some old clunker than a new car, you should ride with my older daughter, it’s scary.
