This selector has been very well received by the press and the public . However, if you believe that this selector is unfair or could be better, we invite your criticisms and comments. We even provide free programming so you can build your own candidate selector that you can feature on your blog or website.
This selector features over two dozen names of announced candidates and politicians considered by pundits to be possible White House contenders. You may select a position for every issue, or just select those issues important to you. The candidates' positions are based upon their voting records, special interest group ratings and the candidates' statements in the public record. In cases where a would-be president has no known public record or statement on an issue, they are not given a score, which tends to reward candidates who take stands on more issues. Also candidates for president who take consistent and stronger stands tend to get higher scores. All the candidates and/or their staffs were written to and given an opportunity to clarify or correct their views as characterized here. If you are or represent a candidate and wish to comment on this selector, post your thoughts here. This selector was updated in May of 2007.

It’s obvious that Fred’s numbers are slanted due to missing issue statements. I wouldn’t vote for hagel the horrible for dog catcher! I would proudly vote for Hunter however.

Yep, you got it - and illustrated the fallibility of these sort of bots in the doing. Even though thy offered the option to place a higher order of importance to the various questions, they didn’t provide a “deal-breaker” button. I think the other point was that they nicked Thompson with the Medicare vote - I don’t know the context wherein he cast his vote, but I opposed it in the questionnaire.
Sums up my feelings pretty well - the best of them are mediocre and my support for "None of the Above" is strongest at this point. ;)

It’s interesting, bt it leaves out some policy positions, such as supporting the President’s view that we need to finish the job in Iraq, but opposing his no-win strategy. Your choices on legal immigration are only more or less, not let’s make it easier for those who have been vetted and are waiting to get the papers they need, perhaps let’s change the quotas, but let’s secure the border. It also doesn’t include any recognizable third-party candidates other than Bloomie.
It also doesn’t hve an option for “it’s a state issue.”

Note that they choose to include her, but not the candidates of such parties as teh Constitution Party, the Libertarian Party, or any of the third parties of teh broader right. That is just one more reason that this selector is flawed.
