How The Majority of FReepers are Chasing Rabbits
Vanity | 07/03/2007 | VaBthang4

Posted on 07/03/2007 1:04:29 PM PDT by VaBthang4

The majority of threads created, the majority of posts written...

From the knee-jerk and oft-times erroneous reports regarding illegal Immigration and the Politics behind it...to the divisions drawn up as a result of have so many phony hack politicians thinking that they can become a President...to the Terry Chiavo case...to Libertarians posing as Conservatives down to the moronic slander railed against President Bush...

I can only conclude that the so called Conservatives here at Free Republic have gotten off track.

Do all of us [Conservatives] have valid opinions? Of course.

Do all of us [Conservatives] have legitimate concerns? Of course.

Should we look past the appointing of Supreme Court judges who can now take back the Courts or the tremendous strides W has made in avenging 9/11, taking out Saddam Hussein and letting the leash off of the CIA & FBI in order for them to go after the immediate and real [see not imagined] threat to National Security and the Constitution; Sociopathic Islam?

God forbid.

Some of the things I have read here regarding the President's shortcomings have been just plain sad.

The adolescent ranting that once seemed confined to the Loserdopian crowd have crept into other circles.

The Anti-Illegal Immigration crowd [of which I would've thought I was a member] has been embarrassing in some of its observations and responses.

All the brutal incompetence regarding the Terry Schiavo case did NOTHING but provide Liberals with talking points and the opportunity to point to a supposed split within the Republican Party.

Now the divisiveness [I plead guilty] that results from supporting different Conservative [and not so Conservative] candidates, the majority of which do not stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning anything other than their own states/districts.

Something has got to give.

All I know is Liberals are united in taking back the Presidency. To the point that if any one of their candidates makes an attack against another candidate, their poll ratings drop instantly.

We better wake up.

The bottom-line is that with all of the failures of the former Conservative legislature and this President...the situation is light years ahead of what it will be if we stay fractured and GIVE this thing back to the Liberals.

Make no mistake about it...any one of these Democratic candidates will be the most Liberal, destructive President that this country has ever seen.

Wake up people and get your priorities straight.

The question is which party will trash the Constitution less. I think the answer is obvious.

It's not so obvious anymore. Not since the Kennedy/Bush/McCain wing of the Republican party started calling the shots. RINOs were bad enough but this obsession with dismantling our country and merging it with Mexico and Canada is not well supported by the Constitution. I will not support a party whose overarching goal is the Balkanization of America and the creation of Mexamerida.

To anyone who has observed the brownshirts who now seem to have overrun FR, it’s clear that the current environment is even more toxic than in past election cycles because the nuts now have the sympathy, full-blessing, and the empowerment of the ownership.

In reading the arguments of the Caucus of the Angry, the purists, the “true conservatives” here on FR, in assessing their tone and behavior in their interaction with others, we need to conclude that what we’re seeing here isn’t evidence of a political ideology; what we’re seeing is evidence of a personality disorder. Consider:

The Caucus of the Angry, generally, consistently exhibits certain character traits —

— Perfectionism
— Inflexibility
— Stridency and argumentativeness
— Impracticality/detachment from reality
— A tendency to view the world from the perspective of the ideal, and inability to consider practical alternatives
— Aggressiveness
— Narrow viewpoint and the inability and unwillingness to consider other viewpoints
— Inability to see the big picture
— Elitism, and a tendency to consider only their position as being the “right” one
— Rigidity and the inability to accommodate, compromise, or exhibit flexibility
— Judgmentalism and defensiveness
— Lack of civility
— Negativity
— A preference to destroy what they disagree with rather than build on previous progress
— Inability to focus on an overall goal and to work cooperatively with others toward that goal
— Individuality, to the point of personal isolation

Interestingly enough, these character traits are found in extremists of every stripe, left as well as right. These character traits seem to be common to extremists, independent of ideology, which is why their behavior and attitudes are symptomatic of a personality disorder rather than a political philosophy. In fact, many of these traits closely parallel the symptoms of Paranoid Personality Disorder as identified by the American Psychiatric Association (see http://mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=569&cn=8 for confirming information).

FR has some great people on it. Unfortunately, it also has some rude and infantile morons. Sadly, the morons seem to have the run of the place.

Because of my public support here for Rudy Giuliani, I’m surprised I haven’t been banned yet. So, I’ll save the Mods the work of monitoring my posts for some “banning offense,” and simply ask that they delete my account at FreeRepublic. I don’t want to be associated with this site any longer.

Woe...I never saw that post. A salient, well written statement that vibes allot with my own perspective of what is happening here.

However, it would’ve been better had they stayed.

[.. Wake up people and get your priorities straight. ..]

Still BLIND Eh!... or in denial.. George Bush has splintered the republican party himself to smithereens.. over the Mexican Border.. ON PURPOSE.. The Mexican border is not the only divisive issue but just the main one..

Some think he is just stupid, I do not.. He did it on purpose.. He has too many advisor's to have overlooked this issue in all its iterations..

Hitlery WILL BE the next president.. the fix is in.. Consider WHY? would a republican president be FOR and lobbying heavily for 20+ million voting amnestied aliens voting democrat???.. WHY?.. OH! it will happen, Congress is conniving EVEN NOW..

Is he STUPID?.. I say NO.. He knows exactly what he is doing.. Look into the mirror and ask again WHO IS STUPID... because someone has missed something BIG and OBVIOUS... it may NOT BE "US"...

"Uh oh, the next purge is coming, you had better be careful, lol."

I could care less. There are plenty of other websites to goof off on.

I'll speak my mind anywhere I please. If someone chooses to be offended by it then that is on them.

You see allot of what I am talking about in some of the responses given. The projection and downright stupidity that some of them display serve to reinforce my original points.

In some respects, it really is sad. I had always considered that Liberals alone possessed that peculiar kind of brilliance that could walk right by the truth without even noticing....but I see it more in more in the ranks of un-Christianed so-called Conservatives as well.

...and for the record, I am a Fred Thompson supporter.

Go ahead and take it in the rear from Hillary, then.

You have about 18 months to feel all pure and superior to the GOP. After that, if your ilk prevails and we get the Rat president as you apparently want, even you will think there was something to be said for the Republicans. By then, it will be too late and your idiocy will have lost us our country for good.

There is not enough room in my rear for Jorge and Hillary at the same time.

Why would anyone back a party based on what it once was? You in your sadly misguided loyalty, and all of the rest of us have 18 months to wake up and get on the bandwagon to change the GOP back into something meaningful, something that somewhat resembles a conservative Party again and not just Democrat Lite. It's because of people like you who mindlessly vote for anything with an "R" after it that has put us in this mess.

Without such blind support there would not be a Kennedy wing of the Republican Party in the Senate.

If there is no longer a meaningful difference between the parties then much more than a single election will be lost. America will be finished when there are only two Democrat parties to choose from.

I will not participate in supporting the perversion of the Grand Old Party by a small minority and neither will most good Republicans. We will rebuild the party from ashes first. We have all just had a sample of what to expect from a corrupted GOP.

WAIT! You ended before letting us know what our priorities should be! Where's your list?

I guess it's time for another vanity.

There is still an enormous difference between the Republicans and the Rats. And even if it were only a small difference, that could be decisive.

We don’t need people who think like you. Get lost, and good riddance, chump.

Lets try to refrain from name calling, shall we? And I have no intention of getting lost. Then I would be no different then those who can't think for themselves--lost and voting for any RINO that comes along.

Look, I don't care if you feel like Rudy or McCain are swell guys. I'm not voting for them.

We don’t need people who think like you.

What do you mean "We," newbie? You may have just come up with a new slogan for the 2007 GOP. "We don't need people who think"

Tell you what why don't you compare Arlen Specter or Olympia Snowe's voting record with, well just about anyone and tell me they are voting Republican values. What is Republican about Juliannie? Quit listening to campaign rhetoric and look at performance to see what you are supporting. Don't be a lemming, educate yourself man!

Oh, I’m plenty “educated.” You’re the one who doesn’t understand politics.

I’ve also been on FReep for three years.

And even if I were new, being a “newbie” shouldn’t matter anyway. It’s a classic insult that semi-literate, hard-right fringe FReepers like yourself use when they don’t have a logical point to make. Apparently it makes them feel important or something.

We are still waiting for you to make a point, any point. So far, the best you have managed is some name calling and whining. Oh well, you will get it eventually. Some are just slower than others.

I suppose, we should be grateful that you are even somewhat conservative, being from California and all. That is more than enough to explain your inability to grasp this simple concept. When you are surrounded by the Left, RINOs may look pretty good.

My apologies. I should be more supportive of you and I will endeavor to do so in the future FRiend.

So, what candidate will you be supporting? I kind of like that Hunter fellow you have out there.
