[Soaring Feather]

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

August rushes by like desert rainfall,
A flood of frenzied upheaval,
Expected,
But still catching me unprepared.
Like a matchflame
Bursting on the scene,
Heat and haze of crimson sunsets.
Like a dream
Of moon and dark barely recalled,
A moment,
Shadows caught in a blink.
Like a quick kiss;
One wishes for more
But it suddenly turns to leave,
Dragging summer away.

Lovely poem and graphic,too.
Our summer doesn't really end and fall begin until October. Last Thanksgiving weekend here was "no sweater" weather,too..I recall my neighbor's tree was a vision of gold and orange.

Very intriguing. When I used to caress my guitar, the only thing I remember was the dog howling. No, wait a minute, it must have been my singing. LOL.

I don’t know many women with no arms, no legs, a long neck and 6 ears. *hehe*

When I caressed my guitar, the last thing I thought of was women.

I was banned from the house and made to sing in the garage. I may have been singing the “Mean Woman Blues” but I cannot remember. Things like that happen when one gets as old as I am. LOL.

And here I was under the impression that guys thought women had 6 ears . . .

Been out of the link for a while, bit under the weather
back up to speed (or at least as much speed as I can get up to these days!)

My cat, passed on a while back, and so this poem.

Ode to a Cat

Black faced
Shorthaired royalty
With a tri-color coat of regal shading
Attitude, all attitude
And enough kitten to entice you
Twelve years in her reign
or eighty-four in her years
yet, it was not enough
so her passing was rough
so there was and will be tears
but we had to stop the pain
as only love would let us do
so I say it wasn’t easy dude
and the memories are far from fading
for the depth of love you see
sets memory’s pace

Inspiration

How often have I started out With no thought in my noodle, And wandered here and there about, Where fancy bade me toddle; Till feeling faunlike in my glee I've voiced some gay distiches, Returning joyfully to tea, A poem in my britches. A-squatting on a thymy slope With vast of sky about me, I've scribbled on an envelope The rhymes the hills would shout me; The couplets that the trees would call, The lays the breezes proffered . . . Oh no, I didn't think at all - I took what Nature offered. For that's the way you ought to write - Without a trace of trouble; Be super-charged with high delight And let the words out-bubble; Be voice of vale and wood and stream Without design or proem: Then rouse from out a golden dream To find you've made a poem. So I'll go forth with mind a blank, And sea and sky will spell me; And lolling on a thymy bank I'll take down what they tell me; As Mother Nature speaks to me Her words I'll gaily docket, So I'll come singing home to tea A poem in my pocket. My new computer is fine..I am learning a little more about it every day..I have all my desktop files on a thumb drive so I can choose to use this one anywhere..I like it best for reading..I’d rather do most of my graphics and posting sitting at the desktop. I had to rest my back after using the heavy pruners and saw yesterday and enjoyed having the computer in bed.
