[Soaring Feather]

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Sun

Have you ever seen anything in your life more wonderful than the way the sun, every evening, relaxed and easy, floats toward the horizon and into the clouds or the hills, or the rumpled sea, and is gone-- and how it slides again out of the blackness, every morning, on the other side of the world, like a red flower streaming upward on its heavenly oils, say, on a morning in early summer, at its perfect imperial distance-- and have you ever felt for anything such wild love-- do you think there is anywhere, in any language, a word billowing enough for the pleasure that fills you, as the sun reaches out, as it warms you as you stand there, empty-handed-- or have you too turned from this world-- or have you too gone crazy for power, for things? My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly

We have had a good run lasting many years as a Poetry Thread.
The time has come to let the Dragonfly fly freely,
and to close the doors of The Dragonflies'Lair.
Thanks to each and every poet who has contributed to this thread.
Dear friends shall be missed.

Why—do they shut Me out of Heaven?

Why do you want to close the Lair and toss good friends out?


I'm sure it seems to all that I have tossed you out, believe me that is not the case.
I've felt the need for sometime now, to fly without ties. I know this may sound hollow and hard to understand, but my vessel is empty, I cannot give what I don't have.

I'm buying time to move on, by that I mean there is a book I want to do. I have to have all I have to work on this project. Selfish, yes, poets are, artists are, but by no means do I wish to end friendships.

Dear Meg, thank you for your support. The change is me not anyone here-I value all of you.

I need some time to reflect and listen and let my heart and head be silent.

I am well thank you, and this may very well be an inner reaction to the change of seasons, or forces I cannot touch.

Hope this does not sound odd, but then -hey, most poets are half crazy anyway. *Grins*

Kisses and cuddles, yes, that's what you're worth! And these you've received from the day of your birth! Paradise started when life was received, Preceding the moment that you ever breathed! No man is an island, exempt from your charms! Or the touch of your hand or embraced in your arms, Or caressed with the fingers of fate at its best... Awaiting the honor of one truly blessed. What a size!
Grand big arms
And round red faces;
Big substantial
Sit-down-places;
Great big bosoms firm as cheese
Bursting through their country jackets;
Wide big laps

A country posy
Or a baby or a lamb—
And such eyes!
