Torchwood should come with a warning! This is NOT a show meant for children or young adults, for that matter. Much of the subject material includes homosexuality and violence. I was surprised to see that the commercials for BBCAmerica didn’t have any sort of warning in them—you can see a brief glimpse in one of the commercials of two women kissing, and there’s other stuff that happens along that line. Oh, and there’s also a lot of cursing, so if you are a Doctor Who fan looking forward to watching this, be forewarned.

Not really Sci-Fi - but I have been reading James Axler's "Deathlands" series. They aren't exactly great, but then again they aren't bad either. I guess they could be called "post apocolyptic".

Also - got the first (and only season) of Bablyon 5 Crusade, and the 1st season of Enterprise (a much better series than given credit for).

I am STILL angry about the Enterprise finale because when Manny Coto took over things were improving soooooo much—then that awful ending. Ack. >:-(

It’s also just a rotten TV show.

Well, there’s that. ;-)

Sad. It seemed to have a lot of potential at first, but then it turned into sewer sludge.

Wait. I heartily apologize to sewer sludge for any insult it might feel being compared to TW.

Yeah, I get the feelin' that this is one of those shows that I'll tape when it's repeated in the overnight hours ... assuming that it is repeated in the overnight hours ... and watch when my son isn't around.

He sits in with me occasionally when I'm watching taped eps of "Doctor Who" or "Justice League Unlimited" (from Boomerang). In fact, he was just watching the two-part Dr. Who series 1 finale on BBCA with me just a little while ago. It was a little confusing for him. He actually didn't remember that he'd seen part of it before (he missed that part now). He'd seen it the first time and watched because of the "The Weakest Link" segment. A couple of months later, he recognized the show and Rose and then said, "oh, no, wait, I this this was that other show"... because the Doctor had changed. 8-)

Okay, I'm getting off topic. I'm a little behind in my viewing because I was away for a week. I just saw last week's 4400 today and I haven't watched the final Masters of Science Fiction Would Spin in Their Graves Like Electron Particles if They Saw This Dreck (which I understand is the full title of that program ...).

Yeah, I'd love to know who sat at what board meeting and said, "You know what 'Enterprise' fans really, really want?? An episode of Next Generation with Enterprise characters in it. One that makes no sense if you didn't see the episode that it's a sequel to -- or rather an "interlude" of. One that makes little sense if you HAVE seen that episode. And one where the Next Generation actors are WAAAAAAY too frickin' old and too frickin' fat to actually be the characters from the episode.

And here's the best part: it'll end with this Great Ceremonial Moment that sets up the entire Federation, but instead of actually Watching it and letting the viewers See it, we'll have Riker leave the holodeck just before it gets good and the Enterprise actors get to have their final bows!

Don’t remind me of that episode.. I’m watching Enterprise again on the sci-fi channel, and it wasn’t a bad show. I think what happened was that there was “Trek” fatigued and I think Voyager and the two dweebs Berman and Braga killed Star Trek..

Season 4 of Enterprise (with the exception of the finale)was the best Trek ever....

I thought some of the episodes were reminiscent of the original Star Trek. For example, there was one where they landed on a planet populated by Americans living a frontier town lifestyle. That reminded me of the old Star Trek episodes where Kirk and Spock would land on a planet populated by Chicago style gangsters, or citizens of the Roman empire.

I liked Enterprise a lot. The characters were NOT politically correct, and they had issues with each other. I was hoping a station like Sci Fi would buy them out and run another season.

Wouldn’t happen anyway with a Star Trek franchise. No one’s buying Paramount out. Some other properties maybe, but no one could afford that assuming it ever went up for sale.

Well they could buy the rights to Air the next Trek show, but I doubt it is going to happen...

A recent interview with the guy from Torchwood was half about his gay partner not being able to be accepted in the US as his “husband”. There are a lot of gay men who are fans of Dr Who in the UK, so they must love the new show.

Yes, it was unfortunate there weren't any wrestlers on Enterprise, wasn't it? SciFi could have really gone far with the series otherwise! /sarc

Is it just me, or is this season of The 4400 the best one yet?

Wrestling is too Science Fiction!

Steroids = Science

Outcome of the matches = Fiction

See, it’s a perfect fit!
