Met John several times. Like many, one of my favorite NHRA drivers. Been a very rough year for John Force Racing. Hopefully, John will recover 100% and continue driving.

John has had a great career, and I have felt for a while he was overdue for an accident. I hope he hangs up his helmet, and focuses on AShley’s ride. Nothing left for him to do in a dragster other than die.

"..demonstrating some signs of a concussion..."
Hey, it's John Force for crissakes, he always talks like that.
I can't wait to hear his explanation of what his ole hot rod (and Elvis) were doing.

Force spent some time in Humboldt County Ca with his family when his dad worked in the logging industry. He has mentioned his fond memories of Mikes Garlic Fries on Broadway in Eureka. Mikes Drive up opened in 1946 and still going strong today with it’s third owner.
My Prayers are with John and his family

I love drag racing, and John Force IS the man! He is one tough son of a gun.

From the video, looked like Bernstein crossed the median throwing something into Force’s car. Prayers up for John Force.

Agree. He will be okay. Heck, I have had three broken legs, not at the same time - and I recovered well. Furthermore, as long as he’s getting paid based on how well he drives and not how well he walks, everything will return to normal in due time.

My guess is that Force—if he decides to return—won’t be back in racing until at least April-May 2008. But given his long and distinguished NHRA career, this horrifying accident may be the pretense for him to retire.
According to ESPN coverage via JFR team as of 6 PM... John has
Compound fracture of his left ankle.
Right knee has an abrasion down to bone and possible tendon damage.
Left wrist is dislocated and broken.
Abrasions and broken fingers on his right hand.
CT scan negative.
