Flower died? Oh no!!
She was a good mom and clan leader. Who will lead the Whiskers now?

Did not get to see that episode. This is such an addictive show. Will miss flower as she has been my very favorite meerkat.

Rocket Dog was a good leader while the tribe was separated and would be a good choice to take over as leader!
With Mitch carrying Axel, Axel might have had some scent from Mitch so Flower accepted him.

I read a while ago that the producers tried to pull a switch a couple of seasons ago. One of the character (Shakespeare) died, and they named another one of the Mercats Shakespeare, but the audience knew the differences and raised hell. Bet the realized that when Flower died they had to fess up.
I have only watched a couple of times, but it is an addicting show.(As if I needed more addictions).

If these things are related to mongooses, why do they seem to have so much trouble with snakes??

The show is called “Meerkat Manor.” It airs on the Animal Planet TV channel. New episodes air Friday at 8:30 P.M. eastern time.

In this particular incident, the snake was inside their underground burrow. But usually, when there’s a confontation above ground, the meerkats are successful at defneding themselves.

and this is why I do not watch animal shows. I see enough death on the roads I have to travel. And, it makes me hate.... I am an animal lover. All animals (except spiders, snakes, and giant flying 'R' words. You know what I mean ;) I hate to see any animal die, and this is why I don't watch 'animal' shows.

Hi,
I’m new to the forum. I was curious as to how others took Flowers death. Shook my husband out of a dead sleep while watching the show late one night. I swear I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. Astin was talking so non-chalantly I thought...nahhhhh, they wouldn’t kill of little Flower. Well, hehehelll if she isn’t dead,eh? They become so human it’s hard to believe there’s no control over what happens to them. I think you hit it on the head with, “This is the ultimate reality show”. She made me mad, laugh, proud, and now heart-broken. My hope is poor Mozart might somehow find her way to head of the Whiskers. I know it’s a real long shot but...hey, stranger things have happened on the show.

My husband is a Marine & he teared up about it. I heard him yell “OH NO!!!!” from the next room & found out what had happened.
What a shame. Meerkats are just fascinating to watch.
