Hey gang,
Just a little vanity here, but how's the weather where you're at? I mean, is it hotter than normal for this time of year? I'm here near Dayton, OH. It is October 6. Today is supposed to be 90, ditto tomorrow. Monday about 88. Yesterday (10/05) it was upper 80's ...and has been bouncing around from the low to upper 80's for weeks.
And like I said: This is Ohio. This is October. And a lot of weather records are being broken.
You'd think the Global Warming crowd would be swarming all over the place sayiung "See? See??"
But nope. No one. Not a peep.
My husband -- half joking -- says that's b/c Al Gore & Co. have already made thier $$$ for the year.
Anyway, I was just wondering how's the weather where you are? Warmer than usual? If so, any noise from the globalists?
It’s a few degrees warmer than usual here in Central Texas. We’ve been in the mid-90’s all week, but overall the summer has been the mildest and wettest I can remember.
20 degrees above normal.
We're all gonna die.
October is a transitional month. We can have hot weather in October but I usually count on seeing the first snowfall around Halloween.
August-in-October in upstate NY
WE are well above (15 to 20 def F) normal here in CT.
Define “usual”.
I am in SW Wisconsin and we have often had warm, summery weather, just as we are (high 80s) all the way through to around October 17 or so.
Our 10-day forecast looks as though the weather turns *seasonal* about Tuesday, with daytime highs in the high 50s-low 60s and nights in the 40s.
Last October was frigid. We burned through a lot of firewood and the AGW crowd said nothing. However, when the first 5 days of Decenber were *warm* (what we would call a *thaw*), they were all over the place screeching about it.
IMO, they are fixated on the hurricane/tropical storm eventualities at the moment, so their attention is elsewhere. Also, don’t forget that they are certain that AGW is fait d’accompli, so they are simply concentrating on getting all sorts of laws, taxes, restrictions pased.
The NOAA forecast through next Spring is a 33%-50% chance of warmer than usual. That would be nice after last January, when both our well head and septic tank froze on a night the NWS said was 25 below, but which was actually -35 in the valley. However, we put in extra wood for this winter, anyway.
I don’t find it’s any different here in TX than usual, except we had a very nice summer. (None of those nasty triple digits for a month and a 1/2 straight).
Summer goes from mid June to mid September.
(Summer is usually hot, but not always.)
Fall is mid September to mid December.
(All of Fall is transitional to Winter. You have hot, you have cold, you have in-between.)
Winter is mid December to mid March.
(Winter is usually cold, but not always.)
Spring is mid March to mid June.
(All of Spring is transitional to Summer. You have cold, you have hot, you have in-between.)
Just like normal. I find it’s been the same thing - year after year since I was a kid.
It was about 90 here yesterday and will be about the same today, but this is Nebraska and we could have snow by Sunday.
So far this month (upper Michigan) daytime temps have been about 10 degrees above average and nightime lows about 15 degrees above average.
I didn't move up here for *that*.
No noise from global warming nuts, though.
Cheers!
On September 30, It snowed about an inch at my house in Reno, it was very cold for many days following
Funny how this correlates to the sun cycle......Geez......I wonder why?
LOL!
Sorry, here in New Mexico there is no “usual” when it comes to weather. Though my impression is that the summer was rather mild as was the winter. Last couple of weeks it has been warmer than I recall during past Balloon Fiesta mornings (still cool enough for the balloons to fly though). All I know is that one can golf almost all year round in this part of the country.
Set a new record where I live. Yesterday the temp got up to 86. Broke the old record of 80 degrees for Oct. 7 that was set in 1939.
I was kidding the guy because I live about 10 miles south of him in Dayton.
You on the other hand live in God’s country. I love New Mexico, went to school in Santa Fe a long time ago. Albuquerque is a great city.
