The Author is an idiot, he missed two of the best ever.

Eddie Murphy does James Brown, It's Hot...In the Hot Tub!

And of course, when Steve Martin did King Tut.

Actually, John first did Cocker in Season 1, episode 3, hosted by Rob Reiner. He then repeated it in the next season with Cocker.

IMHO, the first time he did it probably saved the show from being cancelled.

Loved when Belushi did the old Slim Harpo tune “King Bee” dressed in a bee costume.

While not a John McCain fan, I still love the sketch with McCain doing Streisand songs.

Eddie Murphy does James Brown, It's Hot...In the Hot Tub!

My personal favorite of all time. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes when I saw it live.

I agree. The Hottub song was hilarious, and well-played by Murphy.

And the King Tut song was a classic.

I agree Murphy as Brown in the Hot Tub is a real keeper.

Piscopo and Murphy as Sinatra and Stevie Wonder Ebony and Ivory also.

I don't think the Blues Brothers was a skit. I think it was intended as a serious performance.

I’d give an honorable mention to Garrett Morris’s rendition of Danny Boy. It was not funny, it was just plain good and unexpected.

Nobody mentioned Christopher Walken’s The Continental. Those were my favorite.

I completely agree; the Eddie Murphy Hot Tub song would have been my #1.

From Gumby's "Merry Christmas, Dammit" Special:

Now, here's an act for all the kids out there who I know want to swing this Christmas. Donny and Marie!

Marie Osmond: For the Osmonds, Christmas is a joyous time for the whole family to get together.

Donny Osmond: Yeah, Marie.. But things sure have changed since you got married.

Marie Osmond: Well, what about you, Donny? You've got a wife at home.

Donny Osmond: You're right. I guess Christmas just won't be the same this year. [ singing ] "I'll have a blue Christmas without you.." Marie Osmond: "I'll be so blue thinking about you.." Donny and Marie: [ moving closer together as they sing ] "Decorations of red, on a green Christmas tree.. won't mean a thing, if you're not here with me. I'll have a blue Christmas, that's certain.. And when the blue heartache.."

Gumby: Donny and Marie! Hey, hey, hey, cut it out! Is this how you kids go Hawaiian? Give me a break here!
