My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Love's Philosophy
The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In another's being mingle--
Why not I with thine?
See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;--
What is all this sweet work worth,
If thou kiss not me?

Goodnight everyone.
My valiant knight thy furrowed brow tell stories not spoken but hangs heavy as your cloak hanging from slumping shoulders war worn, tired from bloody battle
of clashing blades, slashing swords, yet holding forth a stalwart posture of honor while bent from battle on this night-come my knight to your maiden's chambers tower high away from the clamor to the midnight hour of magic moments
Lay thy bloodied beaten head upon the softness of my bed and lay in peace 'til the cock doth crow then off to battle thou must go
White Knight honor to uphold bravely striding before the fold leading your company to victory and bestow your world with fealty...

Another Life, Another Time
Tis the verdant green of the valleys I miss the most I think
Where the mild summer winds carry the many scents of life
And the lovely river runs slowly to the Irish Sea tumbling so rife
Where the long grasses move like waves into which we sink
Cool grass bower and shade of an ancient tree shelter us sweet
As we love the day away in a timeless moment just for we two
Holding each other with passion as all lovers are aching to do
Not realizing how such moments are both temporary and so fleet
Rolling hills about us, and we together reach beyond them so high
Our hearts are fused in need and pleasant exploration as we burn
For such is the manner of love, such is the way of all hearts turn
And so we fill the day with expectations under a cerulean sky
As evening touched the edge of day we walk the long road home
And by the hearth we remembered the day for it was our first
Even now it remains bright, the memory of our loves thirst
When we made the pact and kept it good, there on Erins loam
Time washes so much away yet it remains so very clear
And the magic we knew of each other is still there fair I say
Though you are gone and I so many thousands of miles away
I hold onto the memory still burning within so sweet and clear

First Kiss
Their eyes meet there in full moon light, something not so rare
But this night something’s different here, and there’s magic in the air.
“Is the summer breeze always this alive?” she softly wonders there,
Something in his eyes speak to her soul, a challenge and a dare
that keeps her from moving.
There under the spreading cherry tree, beneath the warm moonlight,
He looks into those blue-grey eyes, stormy, warm and bright,
Here at the place where it all began, where he woke up to the sight
Of these two eyes that needed him to help her make things right,
To be her protector.
A touch, a sigh, the moment comes when there’s no turning back
As midnight dawns a lover’s light to chase away the black —
The sounds, the scents, the moonlight all join in one attack
To bind the fears that held them in a lonely loveless track
Of self-imposed angst.
Spinning, spinning round them as soft as lover’s sigh
Auras raised by passion reach out to kiss the sky
A brush of lips, electric fire make red and pink sparks fly
Bright fireworks build of love and need that sparkle in the eye
Of those who have the sight to see.

I have turned into a narrative poet.
Got more, but most of it would require some explanation if you aren’t familiar with the characters
But if anyone is interested, most of it, including the novel, most of it can be found here:

As we open our eyes and greet the day
we should look to the heavens and pray
and rejoice in the wonders that abound
and thank the Lord we are still above ground
to enjoy all of life’s mysteries as they unfold
and treat them as if they are gold
and cherish them as we get old.

Sweet dreams and happy memories, A love that's good and true; A home to care for tenderly; A song to sing that's new Sweet dreams and happy memories And friends to join in mirth Some tears to give to those who die, And smiles to greet each birth. Sweet dreams and happy memories, To win a game or two. The faith to know that Spring will come, The strength to wait it through. Sweet dreams and happy memories, To do what there's to do For joy is living day to day, To make sweet dreams come true.

..It’s 79 and so inviting!..I cut down a volunteer nandina at the back and have also done my last sawing off of a limb of a large bush at the front..I think my sawing limbs off on that bush from a step ladder is what started my back seige..
I had to get it away from the house and gutters and low enough that I could use a step stool instead of a ladder to trim it. It has thick glossy leaves and I made an arrangement to put on the hearth..and one small one for the kitchen.. I had left one limb too tall..but did not dare touch a saw for awhile!

Work in progress.
This is a sad piece, a piece in a long story I’m writing, a song sung by a woman who falls in love with someone she knows her family will be angry about, but she has chosen to be with him anyway (it’s kind of based on a traditional Japanese story highly modified for my purposes)
O Moon, shining white,
moving through the night alone,
fading out the stars
until all we see are you.
You see me, O Moon,
Standing in the shadows cast
Only by your light,
waiting alone, wrapped in white.
Trapped like you I run
Down the path that fate has picked,
My heart in his hands,
He knows not what he has caught.
My brothers must hate
what destiny has wrought here,
Human heart holds mine,
My joy is marred with sadness.
O Moon, lend me light,
to purify my sadness,
to bring my heart joy
so that I might be his bride.
Her song will be overheard by her youngest brother who will tell his other brothers, and when he does, bad things will happen.
I’m probably going to tweak it some more.

I stood on the bridge at midnight, As the clocks were striking the hour, And the moon rose o'er the city, Behind the dark church-tower.
I saw her bright reflection In the waters under me, Like a golden goblet falling And sinking into the sea.
And far in the hazy distance Of that lovely night in June, The blaze of the flaming furnace Gleamed redder than the moon.
Among the long, black rafters The wavering shadows lay, And the current that came from the ocean Seemed to lift and bear them away;
As, sweeping and eddying through them, Rose the belated tide, And, streaming into the moonlight, The seaweed floated wide.
And like those waters rushing Among the wooden piers, A flood of thoughts came o'er me That filled my eyes with tears.
How often, oh, how often, In the days that had gone by, I had stood on that bridge at midnight And gazed on that wave and sky!
How often, oh, how often, I had wished that the ebbing tide Would bear me away on its bosom O'er the ocean wild and wide!
For my heart was hot and restless, And my life was full of care, And the burden laid upon me Seemed greater than I could bear.
But now it has fallen from me, It is buried in the sea; And only the sorrow of others Throws its shadow over me.
Yet whenever I cross the river On its bridge with wooden piers, Like the odor of brine from the ocean Comes the thought of other years.
And I think how many thousands Of care-encumbered men, Each bearing his burden of sorrow, Have crossed the bridge since then.
I see the long procession Still passing to and fro, The young heart hot and restless, And the old subdued and slow!
And forever and forever, As long as the river flows, As long as the heart has passions, As long as life has woes;
The moon and its broken reflection And its shadows shall appear, As the symbol of love in heaven, And its wavering image here.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
