Patriots complain about crowd noise

The NFL is looking into allegations that the Indianapolis Colts piped in noise during the game Sunday between the Colts and the Patriots. The charge comes after Patriots President Jonathan Kraft became the latest NFL team executive to accuse the Colts of the distracting tactic that is against the rules. "We're aware of it and we're looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "It may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out." Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20. That might confirm the long-held suspicion among many people in the NFL that the Colts play loud crowd noise to help distract opponents when the other team is on offense. "We're aware of the accusations, but there has never been anything to substantiate it," Aiello said. A Patriots spokesman said Monday the team plans no formal protest to the league. Kraft approached NFL Vice President of Security Milt Ahlerich after Kraft and his parents, Patriots owners Bob and Myra Kraft, left the Patriots locker room after the game. Kraft was angry as he told Ahlerich the league needed to look into the allegation. Ahlerich is the same person who confiscated a videotape made by the Patriots during a game against the New York Jets in Week 2 that led to the Spygate controversy. In addition, New England quarterback Tom Brady also commented on how loud it was in the RCA Dome. "I don't know how you measure levels of being deaf, but we couldn't hear anything out there," Brady said. This is the latest in a string of incidents between the teams that have fueled the growing Colts-Pats rivalry. In the past, Colts General Manager Bill Polian has vehemently argued that the Patriots have bent the rules in terms of use of replay challenges and the pass interference rule.

I think it’s kinda nice that Tim Donaghy found work as an NFL official, even if he had to use an assumed name.

I thought that was Ben Dreith out there.

I heard on WEEI that there was also a problem with QB to coach communication.

I wonder if noise levels, whether naturally produced or not, can cause hearing loss and if any entity could be held liable for it?

Paging John Edwards!!!

I was waiting for the moment when Peyton Manning would run out on the field and hit Tom Brady with a folding chair.

They have had that complaint many times.
I had more of an issue with piss poor ref’ing.
I think someone had some bets on the spread.

Dungy is a saint, you know that. He would never try to push the envelope to help his team win or to give himself a home field advantage. Of course not.
By the way, whats Chinless Manning going to be shilling this week? Feminine Hygene products?

The Rams used to open the door to the stadium when the visiting team was going for a long field goal.
Anyone who thinks that every team isn’t doing what ever they can to win is a dope.

I think that there is just alot of sad little Patriot haters wishing that they had TFB behind center and teddy Brusche on their defense.

rapid fire glitch in the crowd noise that lasted several seconds (imagine a stuck record, but much faster). The announcers talked normal through that glitch, so I don’t think it was a problem with the broadcast.

I remember that now, at the time it reminded me of what happens when a CD gets stuck. Really weird.

And the defense trying to do snap counts which is against the rules.
So did the Colts cheat to win their super bowl last year?

But we had a player that was out and he couldn't play blah blah blah. Peyton and Eli spending quality time during the off season.

“How were the patriots cheating?”

You missed all the hub-bub last month when they fined them, I think, a quarter of a million dollars for evesdropping and filming other teams’ practices? Big news. Bellachek (or whatever) didn’t even contest it.

Got that right, come from behind in the Colt’s house. Brady has ice water for blood.

I do not like to prematurely label greatness as they have done with Romo and others in other sports, but if Brady keeps this up he will be the best QB to ever play ever if not at least top 3.
