Interesting post, thanks. I hadn’t heard that the two injured had refused to give their names to the police, which does sound suspicious.
Also, they found sticks and stones in the moat as if someone had been throwing them at the tiger.
There were a couple of tiger attacks in Poland a few years ago.
- Once when a 16 year old boy was showing off and he stepped over the small fence separating the crowd from the tiger. The tiger immediately ripped his arm off.
- The other one happened when some animal rights activists released a tiger from the zoo, it ran all over town and eventually was hunted down by police and shot at over 250 times with AK-47 fire. One shot actually hit the tiger, killing it, but not before the police also (accidentally) shot a veterinarian who was standing nearby trying to help.
Don't be so sure that there were only three nitwits involved here. It could have been the gang's day at the zoo. The only ones who got left behind were the ones who were not in any condition to run away with the rest of the pack.
I think there were more than just these three. Maybe one of them has the camera and will post the video. Then we'll really know.
