The two brothers injured in the Christmas Day tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo have refused to let police examine photos on their cell phones that authorities believe were taken the day they were mauled and their friend was killed.

< snip >

"We also understand that police officers requested permission from your clients to examine any images and other contents of the cell phone. Your clients refused to cooperate with this request; consequently, no one has yet examined this potentially critical evidence."

The cat, of course, could simply walk across the moat to the wall, and jump straight up 12.5 feet, which is a relatively easy task for a tiger.

So absent taunting and slingshots, the tiger was not provoked?

Eyewitnesses claim the boys were "roaring" at the large cats.

Would you and your children feel safe at a zoo that could keep tigers in their cage as long as nobody closeby was "roaring" at them?

STINKS like rotten meat or dumb punks.

I do not have a problem with the police shooting the animal, what choice did they have? None.

I do think that being Christmas that security fell short and the option of tranquilizing the animal was not really feasible. Sad but true.

Something for a sympathetic jury to decide.

Even if they had tranquilized her, she would still have needed to be put down IMO

You used these examples as “tiger getting out of pen many times thru the years”:

” ... The animal left the yard, leapt crossed the moat, ...”

” ... that the tiger might be able to escape by jumping across the moat ...”

Excuse me for thinking that leaping or jumping across the moat doesn’t mean leaping or jumping across the moat.

Excuse the hell out of me.

The CAT.

LOL. I wish I was still wet behind the ears.

Grow up? Give me a break.

Lighten up.

You read post #174 from spunkets

So its ok to taunt animals in your opinion? But when they react as they tend to do then its a terrible thing...shaking my head at you.

I know that (well, not “easy” or it would’ve happened before). That wasn’t the statement that was made.

The zoo’s responsibility is to keep the animals in. Period. Even if kids yell “ROAR!! ROAR!!” at the tigers.

One of the first posts here claimed that these two brothers were a couple of “mussie cowards.”

Of course, the boys are not Muslims. They are from India. And they are not coward because they run away from a barehanded fight with a 400 pound tiger.(I wonder how much more we would believe them if their name was McCabe, Smith, or Johnson)

It seemed strange to me from the beginning that the zoo and police officials blamed the victims, instead of offering condolences and seeking the cause of the attack.

Looked like a bureaucratic cover up to me from the beginning. This whole thing smells too much like Richard Jewel.

The police had no choice. But the zoo should have been protecting it’s animals better IMHO. People who hiss & taunt animals need to be made to leave asap. They are not there to enjoy the animals but to torture them. And parents who condone this behavior are plain stupid.

A lot of sick people are more concerned about the tiger than the people. I heard they put up a memorial to the tiger but not for the young man who died. What’s wrong with this picture? San Francisco is so darn perverted!

I believe the injured young men will get a settlement but it won’t be as much as it would have been if they hadn’t acted like jerks. The dead man’s family hopefully will receive a large sum. Even if they did taunt the tiger, that tiger should not have been able to get out. Also, the zoo authorities thought they were nuts and seemingly ignored their initial pleas for help. The zoo messed up big time.

I still say 67 years of no tigers getting out and attacking zoogoers - then this incident = something really bad was done to provoke the tiger that had never been done before.
