In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

Imprimatur

Noun

    1. Official license or approval to print or publish a book, paper, etc.; especially, such a license issued by the Roman Catholic episcopal authority.
    2. Approval; sanction.
    3. A mark of approval or distinction.

Imprimatur is from New Latin imprimatur, "let it be printed," from imprimere, "to imprint," from Latin, from in- + premere, "to press."

he is showing poor personal judgment which could reflect on his political judgment. but he is france’s problem. it is not unlike having rudy as our president, thinking with the wrong head etc.

Kerry gave his imprimatur to Edwards, I wonder if it isn't the kiss of death to his political aspirations?????????

ROTFL, sorry they all look and sound alike. I could have sworn I heard Edwards say that Kerry endorsed him.

Home from work and getting ready to light the grill for steaks at last-the traffic yesterday and today was a total fuster cluck from my customer’s house to the highway I take to get home-

An imprimatur from John Kerry
May not be what Obama needs
Especially when he claims to
Be planting changing seeds

Could anyone more represent
The limousine liberal bunch
Than a guy whose wifey’s money
Bails him out of every crunch?

One with four homes and a plane
And plenty of spending cash-
He’d have done Obama a favor if
He’d have endorsed Mrs. trailer trash

My hubby likes bagged salad greens, too, but I don’t-so as long as fresh romaine, watercress, etc is available he has to eat that-but he loves it when there is not a good selection at the market and I have to resort to the bagged crap.

I still have arugula, serrano peppers, herbs and one tomato plant growing and producing inside by the french doors. The cats have left them alone since Kitty boy rubbed and rolled onto a pepper plant just like he’d been doing with the dill, basil and mint-and ran around screaming his little orange head off and rolling on the rugs to get the smell and burn off him. He finally rolled in one of the litter boxes I’d just changed, and I guess the crystal thingees absorbed the pepper smell the same way they do cat waste, because he calmed down after that and I wiped him off with some waterless cat bath on a sponge. He and Yeti boy now walk cautiously around those plants...
