This is for entertainment purposes only. You are adults, if you lose your house payment on the Super Bowl, I am not responsible.
Feb. 3 New York at New England (-12 1/2; -110)
O/U 54
3:18 p.m.(PST)
The line has already moved.
Sports betting is dumb yet people persist in the folly...
Belichick and company get two weeks to prepare for Eli Manning and the Giants.
Its going to be ugly midway through the third quarter.
Patriots 35, Giants 14.
Betcha the Pats win, the Giants don’t.
Giants 34 - Pats 31
GO GIANTS!
I fear another superbowl yawner is headed our way. Only New York can make it a thriller.
If I bet, I’ll take the Giants and the points. For now, it’s time for a cheeseburger and fries.
Wow, early G-Men money coming in. The line was 13.5. Always bet against the money and you’ll be rewarded in the long run.
My “Global Climate Model” method says the line will be the game-time temp in Celsius (e.g. Gints +20 for 68 deg-F)...
I’d make that bet, if only for the upset value.
That’s a big spread for an NFL game. I wonder if ESPN.com’s Bill Simmons will pick this game (ATS) with his heart or his head?
(Either way, I think he’ll bet with NE)
Sports betting doesn’t have to be dumb, the trick is to only bet logic, never let emotion in, understand how odds are made, and spread yourself wide and shallow. Of course the problem is in order to do it properly you have to remove yourself from all the reasons to actually enjoy the game, just like any other form of professional gambling, nothing kills fun like turning it into a profession.
evens
You mean like screaming at the TV, say when Brady got picked in the end zone which would have made the final 28-12. Or not getting the bet in on time for the other game to even things out.
Sounds about right.
I wonder what the ratings will be of this game? I’ll be watching it, but I wonder how many others will be, especially on the Left Coast.
Well, the SF crowd will be watching Brady in his tight pants....
Like never really picking a routing interest other than your own money, never having a favorite team. Professional table gambling is even more no fun, gotta count the cards, work the odds, pay attention to people’s tendencies, no celebrating the big win. You ever actually watch the people in the World Series of Poker? These people are not having fun, well that loses late enough to make some money enjoys their last 30 seconds or so, but other than that they sapped all the fun out of it.
The Super Bowl is unique, many people watch it not even knowing which teams are playing. This one will have a historical element to it, I predict a top 3 of all time rating. No, I’m not betting on it!!
Well, it’s good that you know your limitations.
