Heath Ledger's role in 'Brokeback Mountain' miffed Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson has called Heath Ledger's death this week a "tragic loss." But in recent years, Gibson had distanced himself from the risk-taking actor, it's been claimed.

Gibson turned cold toward Ledger after the Aussie star ignored his advice not to play a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain," according to private investigator Paul Barresi.

Ledger and Gibson had grown close while filming "The Patriot," in which Ledger played Gibson's son.

"Ledger asked Gibson whether he should take the role of Ennis Del Mar in 'Brokeback,'" Barresi says a "major Hollywood producer" told him. "Gibson strongly counseled against it. The role apparently ran counter to Gibson's morality. And he felt that it would ruin Heath's career."

The purpose of Brokeback Mountain was to make money and the goal of every actor in the film was not make money, not be an activist.

I'm throwing the bullshit flag on that. The main purpose for making that movie was to forward the gay agenda.

Evidently, Mel Gibson was right.

IMHO Brokeback Mountain was propaganda on two levels:

1) Pro-gay in the extreme.
2) Deliberately anti-American, as it was a direct attack on the American cowboy icon.

By a Chinese director.

I’m not waiting for Ang Lee to make an equivalent movie: Brokeback Monk, or some homosexual Chinese-icon bashing movie.

That won’t happen.

1) Pro-gay in the extreme.

Agreed.

In addition, the actors that portrayed(?) those stinking homosexuals, are just as guilty as the director.

Bareback Mountain was a ho hum drama in a year of bad films

This is your opinion. I disagree. I've watched it several times. I rate it highly. Obviously, this is merely my opinion. Film, music, all forms of art are subject to personal tastes.

Gays don’t bother me. On the other hand, people full of hate bother me a lot. It’s why I don’t post so much on FR any more. Life’s too short.

Gays have been around forever. Nothing is going to change that. Like I said. They don’t bother me. I don’t feel threatened by them. I don’t care what you make out of that.

I don’t give a rat’s backside about the ‘cowboy icon’. Not much into worshipping icons myself.

In an internet cafe. Logging off until some time in the future. Post what you like about me. I won’t defend myself. At the end of the day, it just doesn’t matter.

Splendid. If you’re not interested in reading responses to your shallow quips, then I’ll put exactly as much effort into this response as it deserves...

I don’t believe BrokenButt Mountain was the cause of Ledger’s demise, but, speaking of agendas, this movie had one; MSM pushing the gay agenda.

But IMO it’s irresponsible to promote homosexuality as a healthy lifestyle, which(not having seen the movie) the film seems to do.

Well then you’ll be happy to know that it did not in any way promote homosexuality as a healthy lifestyle. IF you do get to see the movie, you’ll see.

I still thik it’s very sad to lose someone so young, and do not in any way have any problems with him *playing a movie role*. (And a not very homosexually explicit part either.)

What I took notice of ‘john gibson’ talking with ‘ole mark fuhrman’, of OJ infamy, with mark practically ‘betting’ on the idea that Heath had taken a “mouthful of OXYCONTIN with a few big BELTS of Scotch to wash it down” !?!?!?!?!

No wonder OJ got off with ppl like fuhrman on the witness stand. I did turn to my husband and asked if he had the same idea running thru his brain, he agreed....that mark had probably ‘planted’ the Oxycontin in Heath’s hands and throat.

Pretty dammed disgustin, all I’m sayin....

Mare, (DMSMITH’s wife not his views)
