Message to the FRiberal RINOs: McCain is YOUR Fault!

To all of you FRiberals out there, and that means all of you Rooty Rooters and Romneyites, it's your fault that the GOP is almost for certain stuck with McCain as the nominee. Now, I don't mean those of you who voted for Romney on Super Tuesday in an effort to split the vote, but the rest of you are culpable.

Conservative FReepers have spent the past year listening to the likes of you tell us that conservatives have "had their foot on the neck" of the GOP for too long. We were told that all that mattered was someone who was strong on terror. We were told that we needed someone with strong name recognition. We were told that generally the GOP decides whose "turn it is" and then nominates that person. We were told that we needed someone who can get independent votes. We were told that ANY Republican would nominate strict constructionists to the Federal bench. We were told that winning was all that mattered.

Now, some of you who said this were supporting Rooty, some of you were supporting Romney. But you were all pretty much saying the same thing: you preferred your candidates to a conservative. Some of you even got so upset with conservative FReepers that you ran away to start a RINO forum

Well, guess what? You were successful, though not in the way you thought you would be. It looks like it's McCain's "turn." But don't worry, McCain is a war hero and strong on terrorism (as long as we don't actually take terrorists into custody or try to keep them from crossing into the United States through open borders), he says he can get independents to vote for him, he says he will appoint constructionists, and most important, he has name recognition.

So, if your real agenda was to destroy the GOP, you very well may have succeeded. If your agenda was to create a "Democrat Light" party, you have almost certainly succeeded. If your agenda was to keep the Democrats out of the White House, you have probably failed.

But regardless of what your agenda was, you have harmed the United States of America -- I just hope it's not permanent.

Ping.

I don’t write many vanities, but the RINOs have screwed us this time.

I asked last year what to call liberal FReepers, FRiberal seemed to be the most popular choice.

I don’t really care. People at FR may be influential but certainly aren’t ‘responsible’ for anything. And I live in a state that hasn’t even voted in a primary yet!

That’s what happens when principle comes after “electability”, “Charisma”, “name recognition”, “Representatives can’t win” etc.

Now we don’t have any of those things and I would like to remind people that senators don’t have a great record of winning the white house either. I think one will this time but it will be a democrat senator.

Well, I share your frustration. But I think the paris hilton age of choosing politicians is upon us. And FR was no exception.

I second that. I think we can blame much of the conservative punditry for McCain being the nominee with a special mention to Sean Hannity, who supported both Giuliani and Romney.

I hope that wasn’t aimed at me, because, put bluntly, I happen to agree with you.
In fact, I have come up with an interesting, doable and defensible way to get rid of a RINO or two.

note my new tag.

Thanx for the ‘vanity’ ... pray that God allows John Insane to blow up on camera and reveal whom he really is so we will not end up with him as our nominee. That seems to be the only escape we could have between now and August!

Hell, McInsane has been blowing up for years now, nobody seems to care. But I agree, the ONLY hope now is for a brokered convention.

Does anyone remember a time when RINOs accepted the blame for anything?

When my RINO congressman was thrown out he certainly didn’t blame himself. First thing he did was announce a write in candidacy the day before the general election, then filed a string of FEC complaints that went nowhere. Incidentally McQueeg campaigned for him.

“note my new tag”

Sounds interesting - depending on his VP choice.

RE: McCain and "Democrat Light"

There was a time a few years ago that I thrilled at McCain as a "General Holland McTyeire 'Howlin' Mad' Smith" president -- the name "Howlin' Mad" Smith was given to Gen. Smith by his troops

Then came the "reaching across the aisle" -- the embracing and alliance with the crowd who by their "anti-war" activities and lies prolonged the war in Viet Nam and worse - you'd think for McCain -- prolonged the POWs captivity.

Why the hell did he do it?

As president will McCain keep on truckling to that crowd?

What... without my state even having held its own primary yet? My GAWD, but I'm an omnipotent li'l ruler of all space/time/reality, I am!

NOTE TO SELF: Must remember to start transmuting base elements into gold, early part of next week.

I agree. The RINO attack dogs came out and spread misinformation and vile. Conservative candidates like Fred, Ron, Duncan & Alan were attacked for their conservative stances. The attack dogs ridiculed other candidates supporters and showed up on every thread spreading lies and inuendo. Other candidates supporters were told that the GOP would be better off without them.

But I think the paris hilton age of choosing politicians is upon us. And FR was no exception.

We have/had a lot of moderates in here who liked Bush because he "looks good" and they think that posting dozens of pictures of him every day means they are conservatives.

Who knows, if the Duke lacrosse scandal had happened in 2007 instead of 2006 maybe they would have ignored the GOP nomination.
