Well ..... I still have a corrupt mailbox. The computer will now shut down without me turning off the power.

I’ve probably lost all of my old email but I am going to try to recover it enough to save the file tomorrow. It might work if I disconnect from the internet before opening it.

I hate computer problems.

Thanks! The graphics and poem really touched home—the first one with the hollyhocks. Just beautiful.

The pansies, too. They were my grandma’s favorite flowers. I made her a quilt with pansies and butterflies—strange combo, I know, but that’s what she liked. She had it on her at the hosp when she died. It’s at the bottom of my cedar chest—haven’t thought about it in years, but i think about her every time I plant pansies. I love having a greenhouse full of them. Even before they start blooming, when you go in in the morning, you can smell them. The leaves are fragrant as well as the flowers. As soon as the fans come on, the scent disperses, at least until they start blooming. Have a great day, and thanks again for brightening mine!

~Sunset on my Shepherd's Ranch~

My Father's Sunset

My Father Made this Sunset,
Colors Ordained through Love,
Expertly Woven Together
By the Master Artist Above.

Awesome are the Patterns
That Decorate the Skies;
My Heart Explodes with Wonder:
Such Beauty Fills my Eyes!

The Blue Reminds me of His Heart
When Jesus Left His Side;
The Red Reminds me of the Blood
That Flowed when Jesus Died.

Now, He is Risen; All is New!
We Dwell in Life and Grace;
We'll Praise our Lord Forever
And See Him Face to Face.

This Sunset is a Foretaste:
Eternity Awaits!
Oh! Come Unto my Savior:
He won't Turn you Away.

~~~
"Him that Cometh to Me, I will in No Wise Cast Out."
(Jn.6:37)
Breathtaking sunset, KittyMittens, and a lovely poem to go with it. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. And thank you for the get well wishes from yesterday. I do believe I am a bit better this morning. :-)
FR is being persnickety this morning (I love that word - persnickety, LOL). Posting is taking a great deal of patience, I keep getting that annoying "Proxy Error" message.
Wii And Mii
Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. —Ephesians 4:25
Our grandsons introduced me to the amazing world of virtual bowling using the Nintendo Wii (pronounced we) video-game console. But before beginning, we had to create my look-alike character called Mii (me). From a selection of facial characteristics, they quickly created a person whose hair, nose, glasses, and mouth looked surprisingly like me. “Hey, Grandpa,” they said. “It’s you!” And so it was.
Much of our self-concept comes from others. The feedback of family and friends is vital in helping us discover our unique gifts. As followers of Christ, we are charged with making an honest, positive contribution to each other. We can apply the words of Paul to this critical process. “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. . . . Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” (Eph. 4:25,29).
Between the extremes of hazardous flattery and destructive criticism, we should aim for beneficial reality in what we say to each other. In the “we” of Christian community, the “me” of personality is shaped. It’s a great privilege and responsibility to help each other discover who we are in Christ.
Together, Lord, we seek Thy will;
We bow before Thee—yielded still;
We come today, as oft before,
And with each coming love Thee more.  —Group
True community is not organized but exercised.
Springtime Wonder
The sky has never looked so blue
Never a breeze so sweet
Flowers burst forth in brilliant array
As Springtime comes to greet.
The trees stand tall in their glory
Tender leaves cover limbs once bare
Yards filled with laughing children
Can you match the splendor there.
There is nothing quite as pleasant
As a walk in Springtime hours
The bees even harmonize with life
As they drift among the flowers.
A golden rainbow after the storm
Beauty beyond compare
A taste of heaven here on earth
With green grass everywhere.
God softly whispers to us
As gentle rains caress
The countryside, with drops of life
In such pure tenderness.
And if you listen close enough
I'm sure that He'll impart
The freshness of Spring upon your soul
And a flower in your heart.
~ Marilyn Ferguson, 1987 ~
Texas Independence Day
I’m not giving up; I will be back later. ; ^ )
Happy “Give Up Easily Day!”
PS: I think it should be “Don’t Give Up Easily Day”. Too bad that I’m not in charge of 123 Greeting Cards.
persnickety!!
Don’t you just love the English language?! Some words just keep rolling around in your head like a loose marble in the back of a moving station wagon. Lagniappe is one of my faves.
Sorry you’re having trouble w/fr. Thot I was the only one!
