First off thanks in advance. I have a grand daughter that has been taken by the state of Maine, And have done so against the family wishes. I need any website or lawyers that can be of help, I do have a call into the aclj Please keep this thread up I need your input.

If the State of Maine took her, it must have been for something they thought was bad enough to warrant taking her from the home. I think the ACLJ would be the ones to contact first, and if they can't help you, I'm sure they will recommend someone in Maine who can.
Prayers have been sent for her safe return!

Not even a tiny idea, unless, Sopwith went to court and sued for custody of the child.
That would take it out of the foster home.
In Arizona, you go directly to the Juvenile Court and ask for a hearing.
I know of cases that took the children from the parents, in this manner but not from the state.

Sopwith, do you live in a different state?
If so, you have a good chance of asking for custody, the states like to kick the kids out of state, so they do not have to support them.
As a foster parent, I have watched disasters with kids, so they could be moved out of state.
I might add that I am also out of date, so things may have changed.
