THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE IS COMPLETELY MISTAKEN. It was not the California Supreme Court that made the ruling but rather the Second District Court of Appeal.

It is a safe assumption, I suggest, that the Supreme Court will be receiving an appeal from this ruling.
