Jenna Bush, the daughter of U.S. President George W. Bush, roars as she enacts one of the monster characters of the book "Where the Wild Things Are" during her book reading for children at the annual Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, March 24, 2008.

Resurrection Sunday (aka, Easter) and this kid-friendly activity have nothing in common. It’s a shame our country has been duped into making the crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord Jesus into a fun but irrelevant, self-absorbed festival.

Do this activity on May Day.

I felt such pride, and even wept a little, watching our fine First Family this morning. And then the thought of that angry, America-hating, sour-faced Michelle or creepy First Man Bubba leading the festivities came over me and my heart just sank...and then I said a few prayers.

Why is the bunny wearing glasses? Aren’t carrots supposed to be good for eyesight?

All right. I’m a Christian, too, and I went to church yesterday, didn’t make any colored eggs, I call it Resurrection Sunday and all that, don’t care for the designation “Easter”, know the history, etc.

On the other hand, I don’t think anybody is going to hell for hunting Easter eggs.

Why even make the comment on a rather innocuous caption thread?

Bahh Humbunny. Tell it to Dolly Madison and Abe Lincoln.
The crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord were remembered over the past 40 days, culminating in celebrating the empty tomb yesterday.

Now as for the country subverting a Christian holiday by having a costumed bunny roll eggs on the White House lawn on the day after Easter for at least the past 136 years- - tell me where in the New Testament the word Easter is even mentioned?

The bunny is helping kids celebrate Ishtar!
