Remember, some folks will vote for McCain simply because the idea of Obama or Clinton in the corner office horrifies/terrifies them. Others because they see him as the lessor of 3 evils.

Aside from the fraction of that number which actually agree with McCain on the issues touched in his speech?

Because he is the GOP nominee! Yes, John McCain's speech - evoking a love affair with internationalism and want to destroy American sovereignty - is held in high esteem by more than 23% here because at least some of those folks think that if you are not with McCain, you are with the terrorists Democrats. Nothing could make that subset of folks less likely to vote for McCain. Even if McCain added Hillary Clinton as his veep, there is a hard-core of party loyalists who would vote R, deluding themselves that voting for such a pairing is the "lesser evil", adamant that America cannot survive four years of 'Al Qaeda sleeper Obama'. Prostitutes get by with the same mentality.

"Did you enjoy the name brand dirt pie?"

YES, I LOVED THE DIRT PIE! I am much more likely to buy dirt pie after tasting it, because I saw fecal pie beside it on the shelf, and lord knows I don't want that"

I'd rather buy the no-name brand or bake my own thanks.

I do not believe that it is outside of the realm of possibiity that McCain would consider hillary for the VP slot.

Far from it.

I understand all that my FRiend.. my goal between now and November is to convince as many folks as possible to “Just Say No” .....

Picking the lesser of 3 evils only seals the deal for the liberal wing of the GOP in all future elections .... it’s time for conservatives to retake our party .. I would rather see HildaBeast or Obama WIN and PRESERVE the two-party system.. voting 3rd party is NOT an option for me..

There is a lot of time between now and November... if we use this time wisely and “Just say NO to John McCain” maybe... just maybe John McCain will pick a REAL conservative VP (ie Duncan Hunter) and immediately after announcing -— step DOWN from the race, allowing Duncan Hunter to select HIS VP... I think this would excite the base enough to turn this arround.. but what are the odds of that??? It will take a miracle.. and God is still in the Miracle business :)

Agreed, we need to take it back, and the first step in wresting that control away from the RINOs in charge is MONEY. We need to bleed them out of their various sinecures... show the Politicians who want/need those dollars for their elections that they will be rewarded for conservative principled, and bled for liberal ones.

EXACTLY !!! --- That is why I would encourage everyone to return those pre-paid stamped envelopes to the RNC with a BILL not a check.. I suggest a polite letter requesting a refund of all past contributions..

I wasn’t seeing the poll results either so I clicked on configure sidebar. I found that Opinion Polls was showing as one of my selected options so I clicked cancel to return to the forum. When I got back to the forum, the poll results were appearing again...

Lotta’ lies in that. Besides “Pass”, there should have been something like, “Caused no change.” Those that say “Vote FOR him” were already going to vote that way, and vice-versa.

Just got an as yet unconfirmed email from a friend in a position to know that former Rep. BOB BARR will throw his hat into the ring due to the real dissatifaction with McCain, the OTHER Democrat.

Anyone else heard that?
