The only one one I can name is Franco Harris. I was grateful to them for giving him a job after his skills had deterriorated and the Steelers let him go. I was rooting for him to become the all time rushing leader at the time, but his body fell apart and Walter Payton eventually zoomed past him.
That was back in the early 80's, when I first realized that Jim Brown was a racist.
15 million was the gauranteed morney on the 6 year contract. I’m not totally certain that the cap hit has to be spread equally across all years. Do you know the rules on this? I thought the teams have leeway. If so, they may (or would) have already taken most of the cap hit during the past two seasons. If the hit has to be spread equally across all years, then it is only 2.5/year for the next 4.
I haven’t heard the talking sports media state that there is any cap hit with Alexander’s cut. Given that Jake Long just got 30 million guaranteed for 5 years, I think Seattle won’t be effected by this amount. Miami better hope Jake Long doesn’t come with Tony Mandaritch feet.
