"Jr. got himself wrecked by racing with a better, or at least, more aggressive driver"

Well where did you come from? First post on this board? Just dropping in to give the 88 boys more grief? I just really get annoyed when someone who doesn't participate drops in to "give grief" to folks on this thread.

Anyway, I personally would rather have my driver be a man and take the high road rather than a JERK who will punt anyone to get one place further on the track.

Stop in again sometime when you want to bash someone. We are here every week. Perhaps next time the JERK wrecks someone and hurts them you can come for another visit and explain that it's just aggressive driving. BTW, you may want to check out the YouTube video above if you dare.

,,comparing him to Dale Sr. OMG, he is not even close to having the respect and EARNING the respect Dale Sr did.

Nor does the puny punk have 1/10 the class that Dale Jr exhibits win or lose.

That says it all. If Rowdy is on your arse with a faster car and greater driving skills, it is best to let him pass unless you want him to run you off the road.
Dale fans need to quit whining just because their driver cannot win.

That is absolutely true.

That’s why he has so many fans.

Actually many of us seldom type in here because of all the homers for Junebug. Its all right for the regs to diss Kyle and Kurt and Tony and anyone who doesnt love Dale. But anytime anyone makes a negative remark about Jr, they are jumped all over and told you cannot talk negative on this thread. You can just root for your driver.

I never liked jr because he is where he is because of his daddy. However I have come to respect him and actually like him a little because he always seems to man up.
But the whining jr nation ruins his good name with all the thats not fair and Kyle sucks for not letting jr win like everyone did at that Pepsi 400 after his dad died.

We members of the JR Nation stand proud and tall no matter the outcome.

You should have been at the track a few weeks ago, no sea of red this year, just 3/4 of the crowd on their feet when 88 took the lead.

Yep! I am a Mark Martin fan, though I am a Ford man, still.

I did watch the video (even though I am dial-up here at my cabin), and watched some "racing". I also have a DVR and reviewed it myself. What were you watching? Is this supposed to be a "gentleman's sport"?

Have you raced? I have driven sports cars on road courses, and have done some oval stuff. I started with go-karts. I always keep with 4 wheels. I have been "wrecked" and may have caused a few. None were deliberate attempts to "kill", they were attempts to win.

Do you know what the phrase "survival of the fittest" implies? It means that if you get there first, you win. In racing, it is a combination of man and machine. Do you expect someone to open the door for you? "Rubbing" is as old as racing. Get over yourself. DE, Jr, is just as much a "jerk" as any of them, and can play "spin the bottle" as well as anybody else.

Thanks for the invite. I lurk here often... I like racing!

Testosterone is what makes a man! In racing, there is no room for second place, or didn't you know that? A winner is willing to take risks, including taking himself out. Any time they tangle, it can happen to either party. It is the skill that makes the difference. I guess skillful people are all jerks to you, but nice guys finish last!

As for arrogance, it isn't bragging when you prove yourself!

Explain to me what Dale Jr has proven? He is popular, not because he is a winner, but because he is a Junior! I have nothing against him, just nothing for him. When he has the backing of the best in racing, and cannot get to the finish line first, he is just another guy in a car on Sunday afternoon... and somebody else ought to be in the car!

"but nice guys finish last!"

Well then, I would rather finish last than be a testosterone idiot!

BTW your man Hamlin should have gone to pitroad for his tire instead of sitting there intentionally to bring out the caution and we wouldn't be arguing over this.

You're welcome to your opinion and so am I. Have a good day.

Busch quipped, “Everyone is driving around the racetrack scared to death of wrecking Dale Earnhardt Jr., so why would I be any different?”

And with those few words, Busch proved he didn’t care who was behind the wheel or he would have tempered his entry into the corner more judiciously. He made it clear that he would not be intimidated by the Intimidator’s son or anyone else on the racetrack.

“It would not make me a race car driver that’s for sure,” said Busch, who finished second and took the points lead from Jeff Burton. “If I went out there on that final restart and just gave way to the 88 car, then that would not be a true race car driver.

“I had to do what I had to do to win for my team. That’s what I was out there and set forth to do was try to get a win. Unfortunately, circumstances happened.”

Earnhardt’s point of view did not differ greatly from Busch’s. He concluded the incident was simply unfortunate.

I wasn’t good on the bottom so I moved up to the top to run as good as I could up there,” said Earnhardt, who finished 15th but remained third in the standings. “He had been running the bottom, so I figured we would race that out. I got a great run around one and two, and nearly got by me. He gave me room off the outside of two so I wouldn’t say that was intentional going into three because if he had wanted to, he could have just thrown me into the fence off two. We had been racing each other earlier and had no problems

He’s not where he is because of his daddy. He may have the name, but if he had not won the Busch Series Championship and gone on to be succesful from there, he would not be where he is today. He earned it. Everything he has now, he’s earned and is doing damn well at it. If it wasn’t for him Nascar would be hurting financially. Who sells 70% of all merchandise??

If I had more time this morning, I would go look for all the aritcles that state his father gave him nothing but an old car to run at small tracks if that. His father was pretty much absent because of racing. Kelley raised Jr and protected him, now he does the same for her.

He’s earned everything he has.

For the most part, when someone bashes Tony or Kurt or Punkshrub here on this thread it’s because they’ve been a dumbass on the track. Jr usually drives with respect to the other drivers rather than with an attitude that everyone should pull over for him or they get wrecked or go after them on pitroad after the race.

On that same page Fox has a poll and 90,000 people have voted. Jr fans dominate those polls and he alwways comes out a winner in them.

88% said the accident was dales fault
8% blamed Kyle
4% said thats just racing.

What are the odds for the percent # to be 88 and 8?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I never said he wasnt any good or that he doesnt deserve to be there based on his skills nor did I say he has not earned it. I give him mad props for what he has done. He has won my respect. I actually like him. I just said if his dad was not Sr we would have never heard of jr.

I am not here to bash Jr. I am here to defend Kyle.
Jr causes wrecks all the times. Didnt he cause two last week at talladega?

I walked up to Jr's trailer about a month ago was going to buy a hat and a couple of tee shirts.

Six lines of 30 to 35 people in each line waiting to do the same thing.

Next to Jr's trailer was a TEI trailer, 2 people standing there.

By the way thast last paragraph is not true. You must be wearing rose colored shades.
Kurt and Kyle are always bashed in here. Tony a little more.
Everyone starts badmouthing them before the race even starts but utter a word negative about jr and you and others remind us that we are not allowed to speak ill of jr.

Jr drives respectable? I disagree. He does his share of taking other cars out. Mark Martin drives respectable.
