I have a good friend that has owned an RX-320 for a couple years and seems pleased with it. He has made modifications to it as described on one of the web pages to improve low frequency response and I think he has also modified the crystal time base to better stabilize the frequency.

Freepers are almost without exception hams, self included.

I just use a Philips stereo with aux inputs for my record player. Only problem is I have to turn the stereo all the way up to hear it.
Though I would like a basic setup with a low-power power amp.

Wow, I had no idea so many Freepers were hams! I'm still the proud owner of an operational Collins TCS-14 transmitter (AM) built in 1942 and a Central electronics 100V transmitter.
Of course for modern applications a Kenwood synthesized digital xciever is part of my messy mix of equipment.

Me included. Don't really operate much anymore - just keep an HT around for emergencies - but will probably get back to digital modes on HF one of these days.

For having a Collins radio! I purchased a 1942 TCS 14 for $5.00 at a swap fest and it is in like new mint condition and fully operational. All I had to do was build a power supply for it and it has worked flawlessly. (not that I have a desire to rub salt into a wound...)/snicker
