Thanks, Dolly. I also sent the article to JK (he rarely checks his pings). He said it would be interesting to discuss this with his photography class next fall.

This is a very amateurish example of faking a photo. This was found on a freeper's profile page several years ago. It's easy to spot the lighting problems and really bad cloning in this one.

There are many faked photos that are so well done that it is impossible to tell unless you know what you are looking for. It used to be, people would say "seeing is believing". Not anymore.
