Alvin Borntrager, 10, left, and Noah Borntrager, right, continue to fill sandbags while Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama D-Ill., center, speaks to reporters after filling sandbags with volunteers at a sandbag station in Quincy, Ill., Saturday, June 14, 2008. While flooding around the Midwest is more serious in Iowa and parts of Wisconsin, the water is rising in Illinois and more water is on the way.

He’s never actually had to use a shovel to do his shoveling, so he’s not familiar with the tool.

Eh, suppose he's ok, or something, but kinda hard to believe this claim of 'change' - Seems the standard photo-op to me, whole bunch of people fly in, take pictures, blab a bit, then fly on, while me and the kid are here filling sandbags. If all them photographers and reporters filled a bag each, it'd maybe be worth it.

Associated Press - June 14, 2008 9:23 PM ET

QUINCY, Ill. (AP) - Barack Obama has stopped by the Mississippi River city of Quincy in his home state of Illinois where he used a shovel to fill sandbags as a precaution against the rising river.

Obama said since he’s been in public office he has not seen “this kind of devastation.”

Obama pledged to push the federal and state governments to provide aid to the stricken areas.

McCain would have been there helping, but due to the injuries he received being tortured in a North Vietnamese Prison Camp, he cannot lift his arms. Wonder when the lib media will make an issue of McCain not being there to help alongside the Messiah.

At least we know Obama is qualified to be a ditch digger.
Unfortunately, that is about all he is qualified to do.

Feet too close together. Body leaning too far forward. Left hand not supporting. Implement too far away from the body.

No way in h*** was there going to be any dirt on the working end of that shovel. He just shoved it in the ground.

Yep! That's what it is. It is a back breaker but I doubt he used it long enough to even tire his back.

I could loan him a real shovel but it takes a real man to use it.
