Surely if man and dinsosaur co-existed, this would not be a hard challenge.

There is an entire industry selling crap to creationists. Books, movies like "expelled, and geological fakes like these footprints are all money makers.

It’s a fact of human nature that all of us are attracted to “evidence” that supports our pre-existing belief, especially if we hold that belief dearly.

So, I understand why creationists would jump all over this claiming it’s the AHA evidence. Believers in evolution are vulnerable to this as well. Piltdown Man is a good example of that.

The difference is that no creationist will expose this thing as bunk.
