Dennis Millier Show
Beaversmom ^ | August 26, 2008 | Beaversmom

I've been listening to the Dennis Miller show off and on since they moved him to the mornings here in Denver. I've tried to give it a chance. His show is not very good. His beliefs are too lackadaisical and he gives the left way too much benefit of the doubt.

A guy just called up to say that the Obamas are just using military families to their own end and called Miller naive for thinking they really cared. When the guy got off the phone he said the guy sounded like was in a bar and that he too would probably be in a bar if he was that cynical.

I wish the local station here would cut out Miller's two hours in the morning and bump Ingraham and Prager back to three hours instead of two.

Millier doesn't seem to be very well informed either.

Oops, that should be Miller not Millier.

Agreed. A few days of listening to him was all I could take. Boring. And to think Denver’s KNUS 710 bumped off the first hour of Dennis Prager for that weisenheimer.

I listen to Dennis off and on....what gets me is the guy must spend all his living hours watching movies. Everytime he comments on a political situation, he always refers to a line in a movie...yah da yah da...drives me nuts!

the Obamas are just using military families to their own end

They are trying to treat the military as just another victim class, in need of programs including most especially mental health programs.

You are right—it is boring. I think I will write to 710 and voice my opinion that quality people like Ingraham and Prager deserve their three hours. Put Miller on at two in the morning. I’d much rather have Mike Gallagher who comes on at two in the morning put in the 9 to 11am time slot.

Miller replaced Larry Elder in our market about a year ago, and I would give just about anything to have Larry back. Miller's show is more of a cultural variety show with a political tint and he does have some interesting guests, but I agree that he is a bit naive towards the agenda of the left. Personally, I think he is an optimist who likes to believe the best about people which is admirable until it blinds him to some harsh realities. He recognizes radical islam for what it is and oftens speaks to it; he's just not so willing to see the enemy within as he is the external threat.

In his defense, and to his credit, Miller could not be more supportive of the US military as a whole and our troops as individuals, and holds veterans in the highest esteem.

I think Dennis Miller is funny sometimes, but usually his movie and celebrity references are too obscure for me and I don't understand. He talks about people that I have never heard of before.

I don’t listen because all the giggling gets on my nerves. I wish KNUS would put Michael Medved on at 9 p.m. instead of Michael Savage ranting against President Bush.

Amen. I’m tired of the rants already. Haven’t listened to Savage in months - Dr. Laura’s (KHOW 630) wining women callers and lectures to unpaid live-in prostitute/maids are much more soothing to the soul. Try taping Medved; I do. Doesn’t do his advertisers much good, though - I fast forward through the commercials.

Wanted to amend my statement above—I wasn’t saying Dennis Miller isn’t a quality person, just that his show isn’t that good of a quality. I think Prager and Ingraham deserve to have their full shows on.

Yes, he loves the military and that’s a good thing. Also, he has remained a fan of President Bush. He has defintely been loyal to the President. I can’t say that I have the same warm feelings about President Bush that I used to, but I respect that Miller still holds the Prez in high esteem.

See now I’m a fan of Michael Savage but I don’t listen to his show as often as I used to because they changed his time and I forget it’s on. Sometimes I listen to Dr. Laura at that time too. I see the humor in what Savage talks about—I know that not everyone does. I also enjoy his stories about his childhood—memories of his family and friends.

I used to be a fan/listener of Medved but he started getting some weird opinions about things and that cooled me on him some. Plus they moved him to midnight and even though I’m often a night owl, I forget to tune in.

I lost all respect for Miller back in the mid 90’s. He had this ‘comedy’ routine where he would poke fun at Bob Dole. The brunt of the joke was the pen in the hand of Dole's injured arm. Really tasteless.

I love his show myself - but wished it came on in the evening.
