I had some ribs two nights ago and I can’t stop thinking about how good they were. There are never enough.

Your Post is Lovely, Amy and Billie, and Made me Feel a Similar Peace as when I'm in the King's Creek, Listening to the Small 'Waterfalls' and Seeing the Clam Shells that are Scattered throughout the Streams. 'For Every Joy that Passes, Something Beautiful Remains.' Amen, and Amen.

Hello, FRiends. Happy Monday.

Today's holidays are .....

Labor Day in USA and Canada

Exclamation Day

Cherry Popover Day

Dried Cherry "Popover"

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted, plus more for the pan (?LOL)
3 large eggs, beaten
1/3 cup plus 1 teaspoon, granulated sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups whole milk
1/2 cup dried cherries

Preparation:
Heat oven to 375° F. Butter the bottom and sides of a 2-quart baking dish.

In a bowl, combine the eggs and 1/3 cup of the sugar. Whisk in the flour until no lumps remain. Whisk in the milk and melted butter. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and scatter the cherries over the top. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar and bake until puffed and golden, about 45 minutes. Serve warm.

World War II Began in 1939

Hitler had been "allowed" to annex Austria in March 1938 (Anschluss) and was given part of Czechoslovakia at the September Munich Conference taking the rest in March 1939. These acquisitions had not provoked war. But when he dressed a Polish citizen in military garb and shot him at the border, then headed into Poland with a Blitzkrieg, things changed.

This time, Great Britain and France could not stand by. They issued an ultimatum and then, two days later declared war on Germany. Hitler's pact with the Soviet Union, the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact kept the Soviet Union out of it for a little while, until it became apparent that Hitler wanted more.

Titanic was Found in 1985

Great Kanto Earthquake in Japan in 1923

In 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake devastated the Kanto Region of Japan, including Tokyo and Yokohama. This scene illustrates many people, presumably primarily residents left homeless by the quake, walking through the ruins of a Tokyo street.

Take note that many of the ruined structures are wooden and probably suffered from fire damage as well as damage as a direct result of the tremors.
