I have a friend who is alive today thanks to the stem cells from her own body. There are some 8-10 people just from my little town who have had this type of lifesaving gift from their OWN stem cells.

My opinion: this doesn’t pan out. Half the genetic information necessary to be beneficial to the target host would be missing. It is necessary not only to have a stem cell, but also a stem cell that will not be rejected by the host body. My opinion only, but I see this more as a red herring to swing public eye back to embryonic stem cells once gametical stem cells are found too “incomplete” for use.
