Obama website oddity
Barack Obama website ^

Posted on 10/23/2008 8:41:39 PM PDT by spaced

Ran across this on the PUMA website and I'll have to admit it's strange, perhaps even subliminal..

Click on the link and a map of Africa comes up before the map of Nevada.

Those are the tourists from Nevada on vacation in Africa mailing in their ballots.

Wow. That is really bizarre. It could be due to loading the map, then zooming to the location that’s supposed to be displayed. It should all be in the source code of the page. I wonder what the connecting with Africa is by the programmer that created that...?

Haha - did you click on the area to sign up for door to door walks to get out the vote? Zero...nada....none.....they have listed 22 or 23, 24 “shifts”....zero have signed up....that was for both today and tomorrow....

Indeed.
I don’t know if it’s intentional, or even subliminal, but it IS weird.

It’s weird and perhaps intentional to get widespread circulation. Everything happening at this point is part of a plan....like the trip to Hawaii.

It’s part of the Google Maps API,
small glitch where the map is generated and then the coordinates of a mashup overlay and a starting lat long from the overlay are processed.
So the map starts at 0.0000, -0.0000 then receives the location from the mashup, then the map is re-rendered at the location where the mashup directs it to go.

happens pretty often, so n conspiracy, just a programmer who hasn’t found the support doc on the google maps API forum.

I love the exhuberance of the site - encouraging everyone to get out there and wear comfortable shoes - talk to your neighbors and it lists a host and specific areas they will be bombarding with the Obam message...... of course that would be if anyone signed up.

That's just Google Earth opening and then going to the state, nothing sinister in my opinion.

As far as I can tell, that's the only thing missing! lol

I started to sign up Minnie Mouse, and promise to bring Mickey along. But then I realized that although I've heard Mickey is a registered Democrat many time over, I couldn't vouch for Minnie.

Besides, such childishness is better left to the arrested adolescence also referred to as Liberalism.

The mapping script initially loads with 0 degrees latitude, 0 degrees longitude, then updates to the searched location, in this case Nevada.

Mine starts on a picture of the USA, though. Does it depend on where you choose as your start position?
