The Second Amendment is protection against such change. The Right to Bear Arms is NOT to protect our homes or person. It is to protect the fundamental freedoms from a centralized government that oversteps its Constitutional rights. That amendment was precisely addressing the Federalists desire to centralize power. Built into the Constitution is the right to bear arms against any despot federal government that would “fundamentally change” our country.
