Ok, We Lost - What Next? The Way Forward!

Ok, today's wish - no recriminations. Let the enemy party beat us up, but let us not do it to ourselves. Time to invoke the Reagan Maxim regarding fellow Republicans.

But let's figure out who "fellow Republicans" are, and I won't mince words here.

If you agree to take a political position in the incoming Administration, you are NOT a fellow Republican.

If you do not support Repbulican filibusters against liberal legislation, you are NOT a fellow Republican.

If you vote for legislation expanding taxation, fees, or anything that "quacks like a duck," you are NOT a fellow Republican.

If you vote to weaken our military, no matter what else may be in the legislation, you are NOT a fellow Republican.

If you vote to allow leftist judges or justices into our Courts, you are NOT a fellow Repblican.

If you believe in an "expansive" definition of the Constitution, you are NOT a fellow Republican. If any of the above, expect the full wrath and fury from the REAL Republican Party as we seek to rebuild from the ashes of the carnage. Part of rebuilding means back to basics.

So, the way forward?

First - Sarah Palin. I won't necessarily commit that she is the leader out of the wilderness and into the promised land, but her ideas are - and she does have a way of resonating with the "common folk".

Second - "Tax cuts for all." Trust me, there's going to be ample opportunity for this moving forward. But we have to say "ALL" and MEAN IT!!!

Third - NO deficit spending (defined as more than 101% of non-bond receipts; actually a "little" deficit spending is a good thing, but it has to be less than the "natural" rate of inflation).

Fourth - NO bailouts. If a company goes south, it was meant to go away.

Fifth - We HAVE to come to terms with compensation of "Wall Street Executives". It's a white hot issue, and probably a good part of what was behind our drubbing yesterday.

Sixth - We HAVE to understand the main reason we lost yesterday WAS NOT our message, it was an unfortunate set of circumstances (of which the "fifth" item above is a symptom, but it shows we "got the message"). All exit polls coalesce around this. So BACK TO MESSAGE!

Seventh - We NEED to do a better job communicating using the tools we have. The paper and broadcast media are gone - they are liberal; they are the enemy. We must recognize that. We are likely to lose talk radio - accept it, its coming. But we have the Internet. And we have the mail system (think "Committees of Correspondence" here - if this is unfamiliar, then read your history of the American Revolution).

Eighth - We NEED to understand that we have a VERY intractible enemy. He doesn't sleep, he doesn't give up. If one of his legislative proposals die, it comes back later in a new form. We need to adopt the ways of our enemy here - we must be intractible in our ideals, we must never tire, we must never stop. We must believe we are right, because, well, WE ARE RIGHT!

Ninth - We must take to heart John 3:16.

Tenth - NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER STOP BELIEVING.

We will prevail. When it gets to be the darkest, the light that shines becomes even more brilliant and even more noticable.

The future is ours. It starts today. Let's get to work!

The way forward

1. New congressional leader
2. Contract with America II - 2010
3. A younger, more conservative, Presidential candidate -2012

WE DIDN’T LOSE. STOLEN DUE TO VOTE FRAUD.

Obama not legitimate. Democrats committed historical and unprecedented organized vote fraud. This guy doesn’t even recognize the constitution as a legitimate document.

We must retake the media, paper, radio and TV. This could happen first by buying controlling stock in those companies and ordering a change in editorial opinion. The editors would immediately change the slant of the stories published. Then, we must hire reporters who actually hunt out and write stories which are the truth. This may take a generation to implement and would be hand-in-glove with the next "must."

We must retake the education system. Right now it is a very liberal education establishment. We must put conservatives in education in both administration and employees.

Democrats committed historical and unprecedented organized vote fraud.

This needs to be said loudly and frequently, with repeated calls for prosecution.

This vanity is an appropriate vanity. If you weren’t such a newbie, you would realize that Chair is a font of well-reasoned argument. There are some times when a vanity is appropriate. This is one of them. Spend a little more time reading before you spout off with you rant.

Are you a FR supporter or just a FReep-loader?

We need leadership. I know its been said before but it’s so true. Republicans went to Washington in 1994 to change Washington but instead it changed us.

We need Gingrich round 2. A second contract with America. A return to basics. Men and Women who won’t compromise their beliefs.

My personal hope is that Sarah Palin wasn’t jaded by this process. That she recognizes that we need her in the party and on the national stage. Unfortunately, her location isn’t exactly high profile. Alaska is a great state and she seems to be an excellent governor but what she does there isn’t going to keep her in the national spotlight. We need her to maintain a high profile so she’s ready for 2012.

We also need to face the fact that long-term demographics are not in our favor. As we have the “browning” of the Americas we have to recognize that Minorities tend to vote Democrat. We cannot afford to cede these votes to the Dems. We must reach out to the Hispanic community. We must educate them on how we differ from the Democrats. I’m not saying change our beliefs to pander to them but explain how our priciples will benefit them. Explain how its better to have an even playing field with government lowering the hurdles in front of them instead of raising up barriers to prosperity.

We also need to ditch these weak-willed losers who think its more important to “reach out” to democrats than to do what’s right for the country. I respect John McCain’s service to our country. You would have to go a long way to find someone who’s given more for the stars and stripes, but he had never been conservative. Yes, he’s much better than Obama but when the primary reaseon to vote for someone is because they are afraid of the other guy it means he’s not inspiring either the base or the undecideds.

We have as much media as we will ever have. Its as fair and open now as it will ever be. If people continue to read the lies in the New York Slimes and watch them on the Clinton News Network then so be it. At least they now have a choice.

Education is a joke. Bush let Ted Kennedy write the bill. What did you expect?

President Bush did a good job overall with his policies and goals, but he completely failed to communicate with the American people. There was no inspiration. Where was the bully pulpit? What happened to talking directly to the American people?

I don’t remember much about the Reagan years (too young) but I do rememeber the hope and optimism that inspired the country. That’s what we need.

We need leadership.

Yes, that is true. Yet, we cannot wait for the leadership to grow. We must individually resolve to uphold conservative values. We must turn our backs on those RINOS who don't hold to our values and be very vocal and visible with those who do. We cannot wait on leadership to be developed. We must lead ourselves.

All of the current op-eds over at NRO are calling for the GOP’s last frantic grasp to be aimed at returning to conservative roots and communicate that return effectively.

I hope it isn’t already too late.

According to Fox News last night, 22% of Americans describe themselves as liberals (i.e., leftists).

Some 36% (believe I got this right, was more focused on the "liberal" number, but it's within a point or two or three - mid 30s) of Americans say they are conservative.

The remainder are in the middle.

So, definitely. assuming a standard distribution curve (no reason to believe otherwise) center-right.

NRO is right. We need to go back to conservative roots.

When the center-right population of America realizes that Amerika is being forced upon them by the Communists (and they are that far left, really!), conservatism will see a resurgence that will be so profound we won't be able to keep up, IMO!

FR has turned into a friggin chat room!!

You've got that right, we need to get back totally posting REAL articles, primarily by right-thinking authors and if there are any around, journalists.

I don't post as this is where I get my news and feel for what's going on nation/worldwide but I'm sure not going to post a vanity, why?? I enjoy reading comments because this gives me a feel for what folks are dealing with, what they're thinking and many good ideas and encouragement comes from the comments section--peanut gallery.
