What are Republicans supposed to do now that the left kicked our ass?

Posted on 11/07/2008 3:17:55 PM PST by RUSHLUVER

Michelle Malkin has told us to fight back and stand up whenever we see the left go awry. Rush seems confident that he will still have a job in six months. Hannity is prepared for his income taxes to be audited next year. How can we fight back when the left have control of all three branches of government? Republicans have no power to stop B.O from enforcing his radical ideas. The public was not able to stop the Fed from bailing out Wall Street under a Republican President. How are we supposed to stop B.O from giving illegal aliens amnesty? How can we stop B.O from shutting down alternative media? B.O will control the media. B.O will control the message. B.O won because he lied about Bush’s record. B.O won because he broke his promise not to accept federal matching fund limits B.O won because he had a Chicago type political machine that used thug tactics like voter intimation and fraud. B.O won because he lied about his own record. B.O was able to convince conservatives that he was a centrist. I cannot in my mind understand how conservative pundits like Rush, Hannity, and Malkin can claim to be optimistic of Republicans mounting any reasonable come back in two or four years after they report how dirty B.O really is. We are looking at Democratic control of DC for generations. Can somebody cut through the baloney and convince me I am wrong?

Sit back, chill, and watch them self destruct.

If you consider all the factors in this election, our tired old candidate who seemed to despise his base more than the other side, the mortgage meltdown a month before, the disparity in financing, the media favoritism - this was no ass-kicking.

Stop contributing anyway you can, if enough of us stop filling the coffers there will be no taxes to spread around. It would be painful in the short run and not everybody can or will, but that is what I am going to do after the first of the year. I hope others do the same.

they’ll ruin the economy even moreso. See dow tanking the two days after obama won - so we’ll end up fine. People will actually see that cutting taxes is the right answer not the wrong one. Financial resistance has already begun.

the left didn’t “kick our ass”...in fact the right kicked their own ass...HUGE difference....

McCain was an inadequate candidate and still got close to 60million votes....

We become watchdogs.
With no Republican to attack the press will turn on Obama to sell papers.
And even the press remains enamored with Obama, we still have the internet to get the word out.

I lay away for several hours the night after the election, and at the time, I felt there were some great ideas being created.

However, I fell asleep around four AM without writing them down.

There are things we can do. But right now, I think we need to take a day or two and take a deep breath. By New Years, we are going to need all the energy and people we can
muster.

We WILL live to fight another day!!!

They will not control for generations - just 2 terms. After that, there will be no U.S.A. left.

Don’t know but...if the pubbies had stood tall and insisted the opposition answer for their actions and kept it out in the open and brought it up over and over maybe it would have helped. Instead they caved and apologized for every little thing they said or did. They didn’t come alive even until Governor Palin came along. She has more saavy and courage than any of them.

Barry is a narcissist even before he is a Marxist. He will accept blame for nothing. Now that he and his puppet masters have assumed control, there will be attempts to pull his strings. Barry will sometimes go along with such attempts and sometimes he will not, but nonetheless they will eventually falter even in the eyes of their beloved MSM. Barry's elders will attempt to pass the buck on the past Bush admin first. When this anemic tactic fails, BO is next in-line. Who else will they blame - they are in charge. But, Barry will not stand for it, and the Clintons will engage in subterfuge all the while. Barry likes to vote “present”, but now he must publicly take a stand on this and that. When the $700B BS bailout was being “negotiated”, the Dems could have pushed it through w/out Republican votes, but they didn't and wouldn't. Now what do they do; assuming other Dems like McLame do not vote in concert? By defaut Barry and his minion are to be blamed for all failure from this point forward until “change” comes again.

Yes, the Dems will turn on each other, and the media will turn on the Dems for lack of tempting GOP targets. It is just a matter of time.

Watch democrats fail and drag the GOP back to the base, kicking and screaming if need be.

We need to figure out ways to make money off of all this BS. In Western Europe an entire asylum industry has arisen where lots of people are making money off of asylum seekers. Since we are the bitter clingers, and we’re the hard workers, we need to be smart and figure out ways to make money off of this. Also we need to apply for subsidies that no doubt will come along soon. Let’s be pragmatic here.

I will treat Obama with the same amount of respect that Democrats have shown towards Clarence Thomas.

At the federal level, carefully choose House and Senate targets, then choose a second tier of less-exposed targets, find solid Conservative candidates who can read and understand the U.S. Constitution and understand something about the Austrian School of economics, and support and run those candidates against those targets.

Simultaneously, do something similar at the state level.

One thing the R’s can do to win next time is become conservatives again. Really, that’s all they need to do.

I can guarantee that after the next four years of trying to ‘command the tide’ in areas like foreign policy, tax policy, and macroeconomics, that the misery index will be around 50.

If Obama doesn’t let these companies fail, then he’s going to snowshovel good money after bad in the next four years until there are not enough taxpayers left.
