Texas declares war on the U.S.!
Barry Switzer can kiss my ass!
What...Notre Dame not ranked in the top 3? They should have moved up, losing only by 35 yesterday. How come a team the Kutztown State can beat gets nat’l coverage every week?
This is a disgrace...
Well at least Ou won’t lose the Tostidos Bowl AGAIN this year...
Sorry but Boise State should not be up there. BCS is a joke....everyone screaming for a playoff but the A$$ clowns who run the thing don’t get it...they can easilty make this work.
Sad.
I suppose the loser of the title game could claim to be number one by that reasoning.
45-35. It’s a Texas thang.
Well, if this scenario doesn’t get the playoff talks moving, nothing will.
Oh well, this has been a great year for the Longhorns regardless, and with Colt hopefully returning next year, we should make easy work of the Okies again next year and be able to kill the Red Raiders in Austin.
So now Oklahoma will play Missouri and easily beat them, then the Gators will beat Alabama, and it will be an Oklahoma/Florida national championship.
UT will most likely play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
Woo hoo!
Now for a few days of listening to whining, sniveling, and sour grapes.
Missouri won’t be a cakewalk for Oklahoma either, particularly if it’s cold and wet in Kansas City next Saturday.
Ping to same article I posted about 15 minutes ago.
Texas Tech is the better School!
So if Florida beat Alabama it’s not neccessarily a guarantee that Florida will play in the BCS Championship game (since Florida is #4 in the BCS). They might be pit Oklahoma and Texas again.
In time, this setup should be futher refined to look more like what college baskeball has in March called the “brackets”.
This secures Texas a BCS berth (if they had gone to KC and lost to MO, they very likely wouldn’t have gotten one).
Sooooo - your BCS teams, so far (if I’m not mistaken):
Penn State
Cincinnati
USC (with a win over UCLA)
Utah (automatic minor conference berth)
Boston College/Virginia Tech winner
Oklahoma/Missouri winner
Alabama/Florida winner
Texas (at-large)
Last two slots could go to any of these:
Alabama (if they lose to Florida)
Boise State
Ohio State
If Oklahoma or Florida lose, that should knock them out of the BCS.
I don’t think 3 teams from the same conference can get BCS bids, so that disqualifies Texas Tech (since Texas and the Big XII Champ get slots).
Gotta love a system where on field results are meaningless..................................

The 2008-2009 Kansas Jayhawks gather for the tradtional group portrait in front of the scoreboard following their 40-37 Border War victory over Missouri Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at Arrowhead Stadium
The two teams playing the best football right now appear to be OU and Florida.
