With all that is happening in America today, I like to look at the vision recorded that George Washington saw for our nation. I think we are near the third peril.

Let every child of the Republic learn to live for his God, his land and the Union.

Very good advice for us all.

"A new influence, mysterious, potent, irresistible, took possession of me.

Mr. Washington was a wordsmith and evidently a prophet... I love him.

"In his farewell address, Washington spoke of several avenues of tyranny, including selfish ambition (with pretended patriotism,) collusion of powers, usurpation and precedence of usurpation, debt, foreign influence, and rank party politics."

That is NOT George Washington’s writing style; nor is it the style of anyone who wrote in the 18th century. Most of the formulations are entirely modern.

Washington wrote a few letters to two of my direct ancestors, so I’m familiar with his way of expressing himself.

Supposedly this was written in the 19th Century, by someone who said GW said it. It is riveting, and I commend the author.
