Readers Digest Version of Obama Qualifications Issue (Vanity)
nufsed | nufsed

Posted on 12/07/2008 8:03:41 AM PST by nufsed

I have been keeping my children and some friends up-to-date. I just sent this e-mail.

I would welcome corrections or point out omissions.

Is Obama a natural born citizen, as required by the constitution?

By not releasing his documents and refusing to reply to the court, Obama is leaving himself open for ongoing court cases and allegations.

He has spent $850,000 to date fighting cases in 17 states to avoid releasing the requested documents which would prove he is or is not a natural born citizen, as required by the constitution. It costs $12 for him to get a copy of a Hawaiian birth certificate.

There was another case filed with the Supremes Thursday and two more are coming on Monday. Also, the case in Cal was rejected by the state court and is being sent to the USSC, after the secretary of state said it was not her responsibility to ensure that candidates are qualified. She said each party was supposed to qualify their own nominee; a process which never occurred. I provided my e-mail from the secretary to Alan Keyes to use in his suit in California.

Each case calls for something a little different. Example: tell the Sec of state to check the birth certificate; tell Obama to produce the certificate, prohibit the electors from several states from voting for Obama because he is not qualified. Taken collectively there is a wide range of allegations and requests for action by the court.

Thursday, there was a video posted on youtube in which secretary of commerce to be, Bill Richardson, says clearly, in Spanish, that Obama is an immigrant. Even if you don’t speak Spanish the words are easy to translate since they are very similar to the English words.

Another web site has posted his selective service registration pointing all of the irregularities and concluding that it is fraudulent.

The certificate of life birth claimed by factcheck.com to be authentic has now been shown to be a forgery.

Another group is alleging that his application for the bar exam in Illinois contains false information.

In 1961, the state of Hawaii allowed foreign born people to file a certification of live birth in Hawaii. The officials in Hawaii have said they have the original document on file, but none of them has said he was born in Hawaii.

It is alleged that when he went to school in Indonesia that he became an Indonesian citizen as required by their law and that in order to do that he would have to give up his American citizenship. In order to come back he would be naturalized and not natural born.

Lastly, it is alleged that he registered for college as a foreign student.

If he was born in Kenya, is not natural born, or filed for college admissions and aid as a foreign citizen, he has defrauded the country and committed a crime against the constitution. His whole live will unravel and we will have a national crisis, even though there is a constitutional succession provided for. There may be riots. And the media will wail and gnash their teeth, since most of them are refusing to cover the allegations and court cases. On the other hand, we would have established ourselves as a country under the rule of law instead of personal privilege, power, money, and fraud.

If the court does not act, there will be an appeal to congress to initiate an investigation leading to impeachment. However, the democrats control both houses, so it is expected they will not impeach him no matter what evidence of ineligibility and fraud exists. So much for the constitution!

Groups are raising money to challenge the bills he signs as not having the authority of law, should the USSC fail to compel him to release his documents.

Even if the Supremes do not require the president-elect to reveal these documents and the congress does not act, these issues will not go away. Whether he serves 4 or 8 years protected from court cases as president, they will file fraud charges against him, in various states, when he leaves office.

What kind of person would spend nearly a million dollars to hide a $12 document? Who would waste the time of so many attorneys, judges, and citizens who are merely asking that he prove he meets the constitutional requirements to serve as president? Why would a person who wants to be president reject a simple constitutional challenge to his qualifications?

Even many democrat voters are now asking “Why doesn’t he just release his records and prove what loons these people are?” Innocent people do not act this way. All of this would go away if he would simply release the requested documents, as McCain did within two days after being asked about being born in Panama, and other candidates, except Clinton (medical records) and Kerry (military records), have done in the past.

I posted this on another thread and it was suggested I run it as a separate thread for newbies or those looking for a short summary of what's going on.

We have four children (ages 29-40) and they are of various political persuasions. My liberal daughter usually respond "Daaaad. What are you doing this for?" I just say, truth and law.

Can’t respond much until tonight. In the words of a wannabe governor, “I’ll be back.”

What kind of person would spend nearly a million dollars to hide a $12 document?

The MSM poo-poos this entire birth certificate issue as specious, but the question posed above makes me wonder what he is hiding. It would be so easy for him to make all of this go away, why doesn't he do it?

“I just say, truth and law.”

#####

Precisely.

Perhaps the simple, but supremely important phrase “We are a nation of laws, not of men” might also be helpful to aid her understanding.

Yours is a very cogent summary. Thanks

There are various truths and myths to this entire Obama birth certificate episode. The $850k spent on fighting it...mostly myth...I have seen over twenty different amounts on various pages...and I have come to doubt any topic when money is mentioned.

I will offer this analysis....if and when the mess is finally cleared....I think he will have been born in Hawaii...which passes the rules, and this discussion will be finished. However, I do believe that the birthdate constantly given in August 1961...won’t be factual. I think thats what he has continually tried to keep hidden. My thinking is that his mother (Stanley Ann)....was pregnant before leaving Seattle and long before meeting this Kenyan guy. So if proven on the birth certificate....then a major portion of his book, his story, and his legend....will be bogus.

The fact that no neighbor or family friend in Hawaii knows anything about this birth or remembers anything...is puzzling.

Lastly, it is alleged that he registered for college as a foreign student.

That's the first I've heard of that. Would explain why he has sealed his college records.

Another group is alleging that his application for the bar exam in Illinois contains false information.

It asked him if he had ever gone by any other name than the one under which he was applying. He answered untruthfully no.

Let me put that one to rest.

If he was an American citizen, no action that he or his parents took while he was a minor are capable of removing his citizenship. The Supreme Court has been very clear on that in several cases. Among others: Perkins v. ELG, 307 U.S. 325 (1939)

There may be legitimate issues to raise, but this isn't one of them.

THIS is the point people need to keep making. Every story or editorial on this story claims the State of Hawaii has confirmed he was born there, but as I and many others said the day of that statement, those words seemed very carefully chosen to avoid commenting on what the document said and instead ONLY focused on the fact it exists.

The same kind of person that would take hundreds of billions of dollars from those who earned them and give them to other countries as a fight-poverty welfare plan.

I don't know about the amount but if he has dispatched lawyers to 17 states to shield his BC from possible scrutiny, that is certainly significant.

Does anyone know if this part of the story is true?

Will never be finished, unfortunately, as long as the true believers refuse to accept facts. They insist on defining the term “natural-born citizen” by their own definition, rather than it has been used for centuries in common law and in American legal cases. In which cases it is the exact equivalent of “native-born” or “citizen at birth” and is contrasted with the only other category of American citizen, naturalized.

Thanks for providing a rational suggestion about why he is refusing to release his BC that doesn’t involve his trying to hide his true citizenship. I don’t know if it’ true, but it’s at least a logical attempt to explain the otherwise inexplicable decision to not release a simple document most of us have had to produce many times.

The Denofrio case before the Supreme Court has nothing whatsoever to do with Obama’s Birth Certificate, or whether he was born in Kenya.

It is based on the fact that he gave up his citizenship (if he ever really had one) when his Indonesian step-father adopted him in Indonesia and made Obama an Indonesian citizen, and that country does not honor dual citizenship. So he (or his parents) had to renounce his U.S. citizenship.

If obama is shown to have been born in Hawaii, of course that issue will be put to rest. But he’s really introduced perhaps a bigger issue, which is the degree to which he’s willing to hide, dodge, duck, weave, and stonewall when it comes to questions that are important to the American people. His supporters might continue to support him, but the truth is clear now and even they must know it. His administration will not be transparent and he doesn’t see himself as accountable at all to the American people.

Yes.

Add National Geographic, now known as Save Mother Gaia Monthly, to that category.
