Orland d. 7/287/07, Thelma d. 6/28/08. Plenty on Orland, he was a professor, etc. They both passed away at 91. On-line records go back to 1976. I'm sure with a bit of creativity, we can confirm who resided in 0's birth house.
The house was built in the 1940’s so it was an existing home in 1961. From a Freeper who lived on Oahu at the time I discovered that the area would have been considered a very long way from the University and also an extremely expensive area. I also did some research and discovered that the area in that particular zip code is the most expensive in all of Hawaii. Knowing the addresses of the major players in this drama I went to google maps and punched all of the addresses in according to their proximity to the University.
The Atherton Y.M.C.A. is across from UH at Manoa
625 11th St. is less than a mile from UH
2277 Kamehameha Ave. is less than a mile from UH
2234 University Ave. is less than a mile from UH
6085 Kalanianaole Hwy is more than 7 miles from UH
7 miles is considered a great distance in HI but wouldn’t be for a young growing family
The first 2 addresses were associated with Obama Sr
The second 2 are associated with the Dunhams
The last address is the birth announcement address, definitely a home too highly priced for a couple of struggling University students or a mortgage admin and her furniture salesman but not for a University Professor with a Phd.
I do not know the entire history of the home but my theory is that it was a home either up for sale or with a pending sale and the new owners were not present on Oahu when Jr was born which would explain it being used to lend legitimacy to the birth and purported marriage. Please note this is my theory only until such time as I receive word from UH as to when Professor Lefforge returned to teach.
So, it can be said with reasonable certainty, that at the time of Obama’s birth, the house at 6085 Kalanaianaole Highway was vacant, either sold or sale pending, awaiting the arrival of it’s new owner(s) a week or two later?
It would be interesting to know if Madelyne Dunham’s bank, you referred to it as BankoH (Bank Of Hawaii?), handled this mortgage, and when it closed. It would also be interesting to know who the previous owners were, and when they removed from the premises.
As it stands, you’ve all but proved that this address never had any connection with Obama, Sr. or Stanley Ann Dunham (Obama?), other than the birth announcement.
From my research Bankoh was referred to as the “white” bank because they did business mainly with the minority white population in Hawaii. Orland Lefforge was white as indicated from his initial military records, and the home in the birth announcement would have definitely been handled by Bankoh if it had been for sale.

Besides there being no obituary for Madelyn Dunham in the Star Bulletin or Honolulu Advertiser, we have the contradictory obituaries for the couple who lived in the house where Obama's parents allegedly lived at the time of his birth. BTW, they were not married.
The following are the obituaries of Themla Young and Orland Scott Leforge. how is it that Thelma died six days before Orland did, yet it says that he is survived by Thelma?

Over at the Honolulu Advertiser, Orland's obit also says, "survived by companion Thelma Young" with a conflicting date for the Memorial service. Next Saturday would have been July 7, yet the Advertiser says Aug 4, a full month later.

Thelma died in 2008, Orland died in 2007. I also located his write up to a certain extent at the UH at Manoa which I will include here.
Searching for their children has proved as difficult as searching for info from them. Andrea’s children are now 14 and 18 so I don’t know if Mia has the grandchild, (the mentioned great grandchild)I will also include the info I have discovered about Orland up to the point where he isn’t traceable from 1953 until we know he owned the property at the ba announcement. He then disappears again until mention of him being an assistant of Sen Inouye is mentioned in 1967. I had posted this info back in Dec, but you must have missed it.

I have been researching this since the end of November when I discovered who owned the house which is listed in the birth announcement. The owner of the house was one
Orland Scott Lefforge who died July 4, 2007 at the age of 91. His wife/companion Thelma Young died June 28,2008. Surprise, surprise.
It got interesting when I discovered he had a Phd and yet has many less hits on google than even I do!
The only thing I am waiting for at the moment is an email from the University of Hawaii at Manao advising me when he returned to teach there in the 60’s.
Below is a short bit of what I have been able to gather and again it has left me with many more questions than answers. (Seems to be a familiar story in all things Jr)

There is a genealogy tree which indicates Andrea and Mia were adopted. Figuring it out Thelma would have been 43 when Daniel was born in 1960. Also Andrea would have been 6 years old in 1961 and would remember a woman and baby living in the yard. I have been unable to find much of anything on any of the three!
I was able to find that Orland graduated from Urbana High School in Indiana in 1932. He attended Manchester College in Indiana and graduated from there in 1936. From there he attended University of Wisconsin at Madison during the years 1936 to 1940 when he received his Master’s in Speech.(now known as Communication) I discovered this fact quite by chance when I came across a hit for him and the name of his thesis “Daniel W. Voorhees: Indiana Orator” which appears in a compilation along with works by others. I also received verification from UW at Madison that he received his Master’s in 1940.
Then it gets interesting. Ancestry.com has Orland Lefforge registering in the army in 1941, but the information listed is confusing.

Now here is where it gets very interesting aside from the fact that he actually had 8 years of college and a master’s degree by the time he enlisted in 1941. I decided to google his daughter as “Andrea Lefforge Harper” and found that in April 9, 1942 he attended Officer Candidate School at Ft Sill. He graduated from OCS on June 30,1942 and no further information can be found regarding his military service. Why was this information not found when googling his name but was found when googling his daughter’s name?
He taught at Manchester College in the Speech Department for the years 1946-47 and 1947-48 before teaching at the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the years 1948-49 and 1949-50. By 1950 he is back at the University of Wisconsin with his wife the former Thelma Jones of Trenton, N.J.

I received confirmation from UW at Madison that Orland Lefforge was granted his Phd in Speech in 1953. From 1953 he seems to disappear. He and his wife Thelma and children were the owners of 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy in 1961 and I am awaiting word from UH at Manoa as to when he returned to teach there. Something which just struck me this weekend was the interview “The Honolulu Advertiser” did with Nani Smethurst, the present owner of the address. She has the paperwork for the house and yet she didn’t recognize the Dunham name. As an archictect she would recognize the name and yet she didn’t, because the Lefforges owned the home, not the Dunhams.
From a blurb in another paper Lefforge didn’t teach for all that long at UH.

In 1971 Orland Lefforge is listed as the author of “Inservice Training as an Instrument of Change” found at the Education Resources Information Center. He was also later an an administrator at the UH Community College Office, as well as a member of the Osher Institute. He gave donations to various institutions including Manchester College, an organization to help abused women, and an organization to assist homeless teens and juvenile delinquents. From all indications he and Thelma divorced at some point and he married again to a woman named Elaine b.1921 d. 12/27/1995. Thelma also remarried which explains the last name of Young. At some point both second spouses died and Orland and Thelma got back together again and remained together until his death. There were a number of real estate transactions with Orland and Thelma and Orland and Elaine which are confusing to follow. As I said I am still waiting to find out when he returned to teach at UH but it is definite he and Thelma and their three children were living at the birth announcement house in 1961.

They don't do the "survived by," and the early articles don't say where to send flowers or contributions, but pretty clearly do note her passing.
After she died I did find one on a Canadian website. What was sufficient for Madelyn was the write up “The Honolulu Advertiser” had and the Bankoh memorial which the Advertiser covered live. So, what’s the deal with the Star Bulletin, who also failed to run an obit for Madelyn? Do they have reason to believe that she is still alive?
I believe the Star Bulletin did run an obit but they have changed their format so that access is through archives (money helps run things). “The Honolulu Advertiser” has been more pro Jr through all of this than “The Star Bulletin” has been, and what surprised me most of all is the fact that “The Star Bulletin” did NOT endorse Jr, while “The Honolulu Advertiser” did. What puzzled me from the beginning was the fact that Jr in his book, specifically mentions the interview “The Star Bulletin” did with his father before his father left HI June 22,1962 and yet it was “The Honolulu Advertiser” that dug into its archives and published excerpts of the interview with Obama Sr. There were no articles in “The Star Bulletin” about Jr’s past compared to the feature which the Advertiser has. Another puzzling thing was that orignally an article was posted in the Obama 08 section on the Advertiser website which was pulled. The article in question was about Ann’s final days as relayed by Maya. Since I had bookmarked the article separately I was able to do a search for it and posted a duplicate on the long thread.
Even the home for unwed mothers on Oahu was located less than a mile from the hospital.
