Caylee's Skeletal Remains Don't Offer Many Clues to Her Homicide (duct tape might!)
FoxNews.com ^ | December 20, 2008

Posted on 12/20/2008 6:53:39 AM PST by ETL

The skull and bones found last week in a wooded lot outside Orlando, Fla., were identified as Caylee Anthony's on Friday, and Orange County officials declared the little girl was the victim of a homicide.

How the 2-year-old girl was killed remains a mystery. Orange County medical examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia reported that the skeletal remains were Caylee's, but the only clue to her death was that her bones didn't suffer trauma.

"They are not intact. They are all disarticulated. They are completely skeletonized," Dr. Garavaglia said. She said some of the bones were "tiny."

Caylee was two months shy of her third birthday when she vanished in June.

Garavaglia said Caylee's remains, which were found not far from the home where she lived with her mother and maternal grandparents, were identified through nuclear DNA analysis.

The news caps a five-month search for the girl, who was last seen in mid-June but wasn't reported missing by her mother until a month later. The mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, is behind bars without bond and charged with her daughter's murder.

From what I’ve read, Geraldo is a friend of the perp’s lawyer (Baez). It’s easy for the talking heads to quarter back in hindsight, but at the time LE was trying to locate the body it was like looking for a needle in a haystack considering the vast amount of woods and water in the Orlando area; and the perp gave them nothing to go on.

Although LE dropped the ball regarding the meter reader’s calls in August, they also had rec’d around 6000 other tips that needed to be checked. At the same time the grandparents were constantly screaming to every media outlet how LE should be looking for a “live Caylee”.

So the guy notices that the flood waters have receded and thinks “gee, think I’ll go down and take a whiz by that plastic bag I saw four months ago”?

Very strange.

GOD spoke to me on behalf of a child who was being molested.
Maybe God spoke to this man and he felt like something was wrong. In my past when God spoke to me I was consumed
and felt I must help this helpless child.

You lumped your response with the comments of the person you were replying to. It's not clear who said what. Italicization is typically used to quote other posters.

In the event you're not familiar with HTML, here's a link to a good website which explains the basics:

here’s my question for you since it’s sounds like you know a lot about this case...

what the hell is going on with the parents, cindy and i forget his name? i was watching NG and she said that they want immunity now...why? did they know something that they didn’t tell? did they help cover up for Casey?

thanks. :)

tapes her mouth shut and leaves her in the trunk of her car where she suffocates or sometime and somehow that is better...

A thought just occurred to me, June in Orlando, she would have suffocated very quickly from heat in the trunk of a vehicle. The mom would know that. My gut is she was placed in the trunk after death.

“My mom thinks Casey was drugging the child and leaving her in the car while she partied (so she wouldn’t have to pay a baby sitter) and the child died. If she was drugged AND duct taped, that would certainly be a possibility.”

That makes perfect sense...and the duct tape to keep her quiet until she was knocked out...if this is true just think what a horrible selfish b*tch Casey was not to even care about the brain damage she would be giving her child. She did not care about that little girl thats for sure.

From what I’ve read, Geraldo is a friend of the perp’s lawyer (Baez).

I heard Geraldo one day on Fox News a year or so ago say that he was a "fellow traveler" of Jane Fonda's in the Vietnam "anti-war" (pro-communist) movement. That the two of them used to visit each other at their homes during that period. The dopey Fox News panelists on with him didn't express any problems whatsoever with the comment, nor ask him a single question about it.

That may very well be the case. It would still be dreadful. It is interesting how we feel better when we believe it wasn’t a certain kind of outright selfishness such as her deciding to kill her daughter but instead she uses chloroform, tapes her mouth shut and leaves her in the trunk of her car where she suffocates or sometime and somehow that is better...

It's certainly no better for the child, but selfishness and stupidity are less horrifying than a woman who plotted to kill her little girl.

I don’t think it was jealousy that prompted her to kill the baby. It was that she was an inconvenience. We have post-conception contraception in this country to remove such inconveniences from our lives. We have elected a president who believes it is fine to do at any stage and that if the baby survives, that she should be denied medical attention so as to not burden the ‘mother’ with having to make another decision, and to spare the hospital the expense of having another physician attend to the baby. It’s all about convenience.

Casey Anthony’s existence is inconvenient to me. 0bama having been elected President is similarly inconvenient. What’s the remedy?

In the case of Cindy and George, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree and they’ve made so many statements that conflict with what they’ve told LE.

According to Cindy the night of June 15th was calm as usual, yet the brother told a friend there was a knock down fight between the daughter and mother over the money Casey stole, and Cindy grabbed Casey by the throat. After bringing the car home (that reaked of decomp) Cindy removed a pair of Casey’s slacks from the car and washed them (destroyed possible evidence).

George has been no better; he told LE (regarding his missing gas cans being in Casey’s car) that he didn’t see into the trunk, later telling someone else he looked in the trunk. Then there’s the family’s former spokesperson (Larry Garrison) having an email from Cindy stating that when LE asked for Caylee’s hairbrush she gave them Casey’s instead (claiming “well it wasn’t a lie, she just didn’t go into her bathroom to get the brush used on Caylee”). Also the bounty hunter claims he heard Cindy joke that when LE wanted the child’s toothbrush Cindy said she should have given them the one she uses on her dogs.

I think there’s quite a bit more that they’ve done to protect their evil daughter and now fear LE will bring charges against them. Rumor has it the grandparents sold picture rights to a few news outlets (making money off of this tragedy) and Cindy has a book deal! KidFinders also had some scandal exposed when the dude running it (Dennis Milstead) was found to have some felony convictions in his past). Another rumor is that someone (I’ve read in the media) is funding Casey’s “dream team”.

I’ve followed this case and honestly I think my bp was lower before the election following politics if that is possible!

so i’m curious what your take on it is...do you think the parents knew what happened to Caylee and covered up for Casey?

from what you told me, it sounds like there is something fishy going on...i really hope they don’t get immunity...if they were involved, they should be charged as well.

"My mom thinks Casey was drugging the child and leaving her in the car while she partied (so she wouldn't have to pay a baby sitter) and the child died. If she was drugged AND duct taped, that would certainly be a possibility."

Casy was estranged from her baby-sitter parents for a month. She wanted to move in with boy-friend Tony Lazaro, but he said he wouldn't take the "rug-rat" in as well.

My theory is Casey habitually duct taped the child's mouth after she drugged her and put her in the trunk of the car to sleep while she partied. Casey couldn't chance Caylee would wake and scream for her mommie NOR could she chance someone might notice a sleeping child in her car while she was out living it up. The authorities would have been called in!

Something went terribly wrong when Caylee met her fate but Casey was free at last.

Within the space of just on six months?
In a tropical climate like Florida, it'd take a lot less than 6 months.

I don’t believe George and Cindy knew at the beginning based on the panic in Cindy’s voice during her 911 call, but it wasn’t very long afterwards that they began sounding hinky.

They knew Casey lied like a rug, but as Cindy told the media later lying isn’t crime (she changed the verbage to “mistruths” a few weeks after this case broke). They knew Casey stole from them, drained the little girl’s “college fund” and even her little piggy bank but they tolerated it (enablers).

George is an ex cop/homicide detective and Cindy is a nurse so they knew what decomp smelled like (there was no pizza in the box either, just the empty box). Neither had ever met “Zannie the nanny” nor did the granddaughter talk about the babysitter; during one interview Cindy even told LE that she suspects “Zannie” was just a code name for whom ever is watching Caylee. They tried blaming several of Casey’s friends for then missing baby, and accused LE of not doing enough to find this child, but not once did they blame Casey. Personally I think they are up to their necks in this.

What’s really sad and maddening is to realize the two people who this little girl loved and trusted “threw her under the bus” in order to protect their daughter who murdered that baby; and to make matters worse is that they are making money off of it (rumor is Cindy’s book deal is worth $2M). Sorry for the rant, this story just gets my blood boiling!

no, not at all—you give good and thoughtful answers :)

i recently had a son and my mom is crazy about him. she told me one night that although she loves him very much, that it isn’t as much love as she feels for us (my sibs and i) i’m curious if cindy and george made thier choice to protect their daughter because she’s thier daughter. i try and put myself in that situation...i can’t truly because Henry is only 7 months old, but i would like to think that if he ever did something like that, i would not be compelled to protect him even if he was my son. i think cindy and george had a moment of truth and they failed to choose the right path. i believe in karma and it’s a b%tch.

this case bothers me as it is the third one that’s gotten major attention but seems to be unsolved—first jonbenet, then madeline and now caylee. it is odd to me how LE seemed to fumble on all 3...well so they say in caylees case, but i still have yet to make my decision on that one. i think that when you say that they are up to their eyeballs in this, you are spot on. my husband and i both agreed that after the whole thing broke, they were acting awfully strange-something just seemed “off” with them.

thanks for all the updates...i appreciate it and if i have any more questions i hope it’s ok if i ask you. :)

LE is conducting internal investigation as to if that exact spot can be documented to have been searched either prior to or following the Tropical Storm that brought so much water.

Some posters are saying it’s near a busy road.

So if that is true, then according to the reasoning that it’s unmistakeable to passers by, it would have been SEEN BEFORE NOW AND CONNECTED TO THIS CASE. But you wrote that you think it was placed there after it was searched but not recently.

I don’t think we know enough. Nancy Grace was livid that it was being assumed that dogs and or searchers had been to THAT location within the broader area. She kept saying that not enough is known if THAT spot was covered before the rains, which is why an internal investigation is going on.

I agree with her.

As for statements that “it wasn’t there”...

I only ask, what is your theory as to where it was?

I have no doubt that Casey Anthony is responsible for Caylee’s death.

There are those who think the meter reader somehow murdered Caylee.

Just wondering, what are the possibilities to explain how first it wasn’t there, then it was, then it still took the meter reader to get authorities to the spot even though I’m reading it was only a few feet from a busy road.

I’m waiting for a number of key pieces to sort themselves out in order to solve the puzzle.

“I wonder if traces of substances such as chloroform would be detectable in the bone marrow or hair samples?”

Nothing that was used to drug her right before she died would show up, because it would take both time and repeated use for a substance to show up in bone marrow or hair. If it was a one-time incident, however, then depending on the drug or dosage it might not have even been fully absorbed into her bloodstream, much less any other organs or systems that would last longer, before death. I honestly don’t even know if chloroform would show up in a hair sample to begin with, as it’s not very common in this day and age - it’s more likely something like valium or some other narcotic was used, and those definitely show up in hair.
