BuzzA woman's 80-year-old grandfather fatally shot her estranged husband after he tried to take their two children from the grandparents' house, Conroe police said Saturday. Brice Wade Boudreaux, 32, died Friday evening at the home on Silver Creek Drive in Conroe, police said in a statement. The investigation was ongoing Saturday, and it was not immediately clear whether the grandfather would face charges. He was questioned by police and released. According to police, Boudreaux's estranged wife and children have been living with her grandparents for about five months.

One of the commenters mentioned this would have been his weekend to have the kids according to Texas law. The law was posted with the comments. That’s if they already went before a judge and had a ruling.

Thanks........ That maybe correct or as another article states citing a CPD Sgt it may have been multiple shots. As with many events the early reports often have misinformation in them, thus we don’t know the truth of what really happened until much later.

Yeah, it may have been multiple shots. I didn’t believe it until I saw the article, because the first person I saw making the claim has a history of making up “facts” to support his wild conspiracy theories. But he actually had a link to support his claim this time. Surprised me.

One could understand the man’s passion for seeing his kids but he had no business pushing an old man. It’s all just a crying shame no matter how its sliced.
I’m starting to wonder about that pushing description. If the father wanted to see his kids with the Grandfather in the way, how does the Father get around someone blocking him? I think they were both in the wrong and handled it badly.

Once upon a time in Texas, taxpayers were spared much time and expense by the answer to a simple question: “Did the S.O.B. need killing?”
Unless there was a restining order in place - or a court order related to custody - if a parent shows up to pick up his children that parent has the *absolute right* to get those kids.
You can not stand between a parent that has rights to their child and their children.

It’s not the prevailing mindset here in this thread, but many on FR wouldn’t let someone decide to come in between them and their lawful rights to take their own children.
And the granddad has no rights in coming in between dad and his custodial rights. The mom does, her grandfather does not.
And would you claim someone “struck” you if you’d just killed them?? Many would.
