Two drivers were shot dead and third injured on roads in northeast Dallas and Garland during Mondays evening rush hour.
Police were investigating four incidents Monday after the first shooting was reported about 5:40 p.m. in Garland on LBJ Freeway near Plano Road. Police are working to establish whether three of the shootings in Dallas are related to a Garland shooting that was the first reported fatality.
For whatever reason, this person is upset with something or someone and hes taking it out on innocent victims going down the road and thats very scary, said Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda.
The first victim was a man driving a small two-door car on Jupiter Road, police said. He stopped at a red light at Marquis Drive and an extended cab Ford F150 pickup pulled up alongside. A balding white man in his 40s fired several shots at the cars driver, killing him, said Officer Joe Harn of the Garland police.
Police said the pickup fled south on Jupiter Road. Minutes later it was reported that a man began shooting at a semi with no trailer between Royal Lane and Skillman Street. No one was injured.
Police said a driver then shot at a 42-year-old man driving a United Van Lines 18-wheeler. The trucker was killed. His rig came to a stop in the middle lane of westbound LBJ just west of the Miller Road exit.
Police have not released the names of the men who were killed, but said the driver of the 18-wheeler was about to park his rig.
The plan was he was going to fly home to be with his wife and kids, said Lt. Craig Miller of the Dallas homicide unit.

Ron Emannuel?
Oh man, prayers for the families of those killed. I hope they catch the perp soon.
I’ll be sure to be a little more alert tomorrow morning.
Thank you. I just emailed the article to my son, who lives in Plano. Geeze, it’s a crazy world out there.
I hate to go into conspiracy theory land but our we going to see more incidents like these? This may be the plan to get the support to push sweeping “common sense” gun control laws.
The LBJ freeway?
Yeah, sure, we’ve heard the “white guy in a white van” BS before and it turned out to be two black guys and one was an illegal aline.
Si.
Yeah, except that there’s every chance that this got caught on the highway cameras, given where on 635/LBJ this happened.
“I hate to go into conspiracy theory land but our we going to see more incidents like these? This may be the plan to get the support to push sweeping common sense gun control laws.”
The wicked will do just about anything to destroy freedom, liberty and the rule of law. Denial of criminal conspiracy is frank denial of reality.
Well I guess you are slightly more rational than this perp.
If they show the video I’ll believe it, but until then, it is unknown suspects.
Anywhere else but Texas, that might be so.
In Texas, we just trade out our normal car or carry pistols for something a bit heavier, if applicable.
I know I’m switching the loads in my .45ACP pistol from JHP to ball until this nutcase is caught, shot or quits.
I-635 around the east-north-west of Dallas, TX.
Yeah, you’re right no point taking in too much paranoia. This guy probably just has “Falling Down” syndrome.
I lived in that area for many years. I can’t say I’m surprised as fighting the traffic in that area would drive anyone to the brink of insanity.
I believe this type of incident can happen anywhere so its not a foreshadowing event IMO.
A down employment market, large consumer debt, family troubles.... I could see an rapid uptick in violent crime.
WFAA is reporting that there was a *fourth* shooting at LBJ and Forest Lane, minor injuries only. It appears there are survivors and witnesses.
Reminder for all Texans: HB 1815 made it legal to carry a pistol in your car, even without a permit, as long as the gun is not in plain view and you are not engaged in a crime (other than a traffic / Class C offense), prohibited from owning a gun at all, or a member of a street gang.
