They just don’t understand that Marxism was an ideology, but laissez-faire capitalism is not.
Capitalism evolved over the course of 5,000 years, like the wheel.
Marxism was the expression that “We think square is a better shape for a wheel than is round, so all wheels must be made square, despite the resistance of the evil forces of roundness.” Which is why is was, and remains, utter folly. It didn’t matter that they really, truly believed and believe in it. Square wheels just are not better and can’t be made to be better.
Yet to this day, they just insist that someway, somehow, somewhere, the square wheel will be better.
Compare that to laissez-faire, which literally means “allow to do”.
It doesn’t care at all. Whatever works. Ultimate pragmatism and situational adjustment. Tactics and strategies. Success and failure.
There is no ideology there. So there is no failure, either.

Laissez-faire capitalism? AH apparently hasn’t ever taken a history or economics or political science class in her life. We do not have laissez-faire capitalism, and haven’t had it for more than a century. Business and banking are heavily regulated at the federal, state, and local levels.
