I have a 9200 I bought in 1998, never fired it. 18”, parkerized.

Like it?

Mine isn't parkerized. I recently bought the 18.5 barrel but in black, not parkerized. I added a laser, flashlight and side saddle.

I've been happy with mine. When I put the scope on it with the slug barrel and it's extremely accurate at 100 yards.

Mine has a black synthetic stock. Didn’t realize you could get a slug barrel for it. love to have one.
I never see accessories for a 9200.

I love Future Weapons. I watch it on Military Channel a lot. And you gotta love the frag 12 round too. Is it strange if one gets turned on by it? ;-)

They have pretty much anything you want for a 9200.

It’s where I bought my 18.5 riot/le barrel.

I’ve read that the “new currency will be ammo”, here on FR.com, just today, P8riot.

Do you think that’s going to come to fruition? I’m getting worried that it will. I don’t know much about guns/ammo, but I have $20k+ to spend upon it, if it will truly matter.

As long as it’s not another Y2K scam...

I’ve already spent that amount on the next 365 days’ survival supplies, leftover from Y2K and the just-purchased past 2-4 weeks, P8riot.

Do you have any opinions on it?

Well #1, don't panic. It may come to that, but it might be a while. Besides, panic is contagious, and if you give off an air of anxiety it will infect those around you. Here's what I would do if I was starting from scratch:

Narrow yourself down to one handgun, rifle, and shotgun caliber, and purchase at least one firearm in each. Be smart about it, for instance, if you like .38 or .357 revolvers, then pick up a lever action carbine in the same caliber. They are good for hunting and varmints and make excellent defensive weapons, in addition you can shoot either in a handgun or rifle chambered for .357MAG. Get at least 600 rds of ammo, take 100 of it to the range, and practice, practice, practice.

Same goes for the shotgun, find someplace to shoot, a skeet range is good, or if you know anyone with land ask permission to do some target shooting there, again I'd use about 100rds the first time. Stock up on defensive and hunting ammo for the shotgun. For defensive ammo, I use #1 buck. I prefer it over 00 buck due to it having a greater # of pellets than 00 of near the same size. It puts more lead on the target. Use #7-1/2 or 8 shot for bird hunting, and if you need to fight off a bear use slugs. I'd maintain a minimum 500rds each of defensive, and hunting shotgun ammo.

Get a good large gun safe to keep it all in. I'd go for something with a mechanical combination lock, no electronics (too iffy for me). Keep food rations, cash, batteries, medication, radios, etc... in there too. And don't let anyone know what you have. If the stuff hits the fan it will just make you a target.

Bottom line, practice, practice, practice. Maintain minimum inventories of at least 500rds of each type of ammo. Stock up on canned goods and MREs. Again, don't panic. Keep your head and you'll do fine.
