I’d read the Fitzgerald short story this movie is based on earlier this year. When I first heard about this film adaptation, my immediate reaction was “there just isn’t enough there to support a whole film.”

From this review, it looks like I was right.

I have trouble seeing any movie with a Pitt or Jolie in it. They are good actors but I am so tired of seeing their faces in the “news” and on the magazine stands I can't bring myself to see one of their movies.......

I’m sure it will be up for many academy awards because the voters believe the movie had lots of “nuance”.

I saw the movie. It was great. Read the review. It was written to trash the movie. I could tell the reviewer went in ready to rip the hell out of the film.
