Bernice Gallego sat down one day this summer, as she does pretty much every day, and began listing items on eBay.
She dug into a box and pulled out a baseball card. She stopped for a moment and admired the picture. "Red Stocking B.B. Club of Cincinnati," the card read, under a sepia tone photo of 10 men with their socks pulled up to their knees. The card itself was dirty and wrinkled in a few places.

Great story. I wonder if they have sold it yet?
The IRS wants to have a talk with her.
Great card.
But the gum that comes with it is absolutely awful.
Baseball BUMP!
Did she put it between the spokes of her bicycle?
Something about this ain’t right.
She puts it on Ebay, and somebody calls and says they want it.
So she gets suspicious that it’s worth alot of money and effectively tells the guy to get lost.
So now she’ll rack in a ton of cash because she hosed the dude.
Something about this ain’t right.
You would think that IF you were the dude that got hosed. If you were the owner if the card, not so much.
I say more power to the owner of the card, I hope they get as much as possible for it.
I’m somewhat suspicious of the “no bids” claim.
She’s in the antiques business, for cryin out loud!
And she’s such a skinflint, she’s worried about saving twenty cents.
I wouldn’t want to see her get ripped off, but that should work both ways.
Well, that one Topps them all....
She does seem to be an odd and somewhat ditzy woman.
Even so, the guy blew it when he called and said end the auction now and sell him the card immediately. Can’t get too upset about the guy getting screwed when he was trying to screw anybody else who might have bid on it after him.
Most people will never learn...
