As promised, a picture or two of the Troll Wall in Norway. Tallest section is 1100 meters (that's over 3400 feet). Impressive! I guess this place is somewhat prone to rock falls. That might be impressive too. Checking the map, this place is close to a lot of good-looking fjords. It'd be a nice part of a trip there.

Pretty big picture here, shown quarter-size. Click for full-size.

This place even has it's own Web site, featuring this small but striking picture. I linked to this site as the Source link above.

Here's an artistic black-and-white shot.

If you want to find out roughly where this is, Google Maps on "Andalsnes, Norway".

The scenery in the Norweigian fjords is indeed absolutely breathtaking, rivaling the Grand Canyon, IMO! I worked on a cruise ship that traveled 3 times to Geiranger fjord (near Stryn on that map if you zoom out a few clicks) maybe 150 km SW and maybe 1-2-3 fjords down from there.

Yes, there are sometimes gigantic rockfalls in those fjords, and you’ll see beautiful little farms and townlets scattered on the flattish sections of the surrounding mountains; always 200-300 feet above the water, because those rockfalls can generate stupendous waves, talking 100-150 feet high. Beautiful, clear and cold water, wispy snowmelt waterfalls from 600-800 feet up, rainbows, mists. Pretty amazing.

It certainly looks like old-goat country.

Neat picture.
I would not want to live below these rocks, rockslide might just bury a village.

If you want to get a bird view of Trollveggen and other Norwegian mountains, please search on YouTube for base jumping and Norway.

Best wishes.
