They might be real but that doesn’t mean they are alien.

Don’t be so sure. He could be like that Muslim “scholar” who is offering a huge reward for a single fossil that proves evolution. No matter which side of the issue you are on an intelligent person understands that no single fossil would prove evolution because that’s not how it works (in theory).
Usually these guys have their challenge worded in such a way that earning the prize is impossible. But it does get them free press.
It’ll ($10K) never leave his pocket if he refuse to believe the debunkers. That’s how it usually goes.
Some folks minimize their looking foolish by doing a bit of research before pontificating.
Others maximize their looking foolish by spouting off the top of willful blindness as comprehensive as . . . could be imagined.
