Next sunday looks pretty good.
The Giants and Titans will hold serve. ..and will most likely meet in the Super Bowl.
Cool thanks - love the weather forecasts!
I don’t think a victory by the Chargers should be considered much of an “upset” at all. They were only 8-8 this year, but they have been very strong down the stretch and are one of the NFL’s hottest teams right now.
Ravens
Carolina
Jints
Chargers
Go CUBS!
The Bolts are 6 pt. dogs — it’d be a upset for sure. Pitt’s the superior team and they’re playing at home, and the Chargers have a long history of lousy play in cold weather (away) playoff games.
GRRRR,
Long time!!!
How goes it, mon???
RAVENS
PANTHERS
IGGLES
STILLERS!!!
I have my clubs in the sunroom, presently at 20DegF...hoping that the grips will freeze and crack...durn, I’ll HAVE to get some new WinGrips for my beloved Pings this Springs!
Going to Spring Training again, Mesa and the Cubs, maybe they can use me in right field?
Hope Tiger is back and better than ever.
I PROMISE to walk 9 every Wednesday night after work!
It’s UP and in the HOLE!
EXCELLENT!!!
Yes, Tiger will be back and better than ever. Did you see the special edition of Costas Now when he and Rocco relived the US Open? That was really good!
I see him returning for the WGC event in Miami, then play Bay Hill before the Masters. What you won’t see, at least at first is playing in Dubai or anywhere else overseas for that matter.
if you get a chance, go check the Indians out. Now that they are out there training, it’s not too long of a drive from Mesa.
I posted my analysis of the divisional games. Since I can’t cut, copy and paste on my cellphone, go check it out.
It’s post 342 on the wildcard thread...... If you can pull it over here, I would really appreciate it so that we can have at it!!!

SAT JAN 11th
BAL@TEN{4:30et CBS}The over/under in this game will be about 20. Since Im picking the Ravens to go to the Super Bowl, Im predicting they win. How??
Joe Flacco must play better than he did today in order to try to control the ball and keeping rested RBs Chris Johnson and OSU hater LenDale White on the sidelines. If LeRon McClain and Willis McGahee can be the Ravens version of Smash and Dash, 1 or at most 2 scores might be enough to win.
Harass the hell out of Kerry Collins always helps too. This Ravens team and D Is as good and better than their SB team back in 2000. Whats to think things will be different?
Figure Tennessee being around a 5 point favorite, Ravens win the war though 13-10.
ARZ@CAR{8:15pm ET FOX}-West coast teams are something like 3-15 playing at east coast cities. Sorry Kurt Warner. Your MVP type season ends here. That 86 yards running the ball yesterday will be a distant memory come Saturday Night.
Ball control should be dominated by the Panthers. Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart should have a field day against a suspect run defense. And Antrelle Rolle, have fun trying to check Steve Smith all night.
Carolina is at least a touchdown favorite. And they will cover that too in an most impressive 34-17 victory.
SUN JAN 11th
PHI@NYG{1:00 pm et FOX}-The backyard brawl is renewed. Something deep deep inside tells me I smell a major upset here. Let me say this. As long as Brian Westbrook has a green jersey on, that team has a chance to win. And lets not overlook the big days Brian Celek and Jason Avant had. They came up huge, countering a quiet day from Brian Westbrook, until that TD late in the game.
Defensively, this team is about as good as the Ravens is right now, which in Mid January is not a bad place to be.
As for the G-Men, it would help greatly to have a big, physical receiver to match up with equally big and physical DBs. Someone like Plexico Burress, for instance. Oops, thats not going to happen. So now the game rests on Eli and Brandons wide shoulders. Now I dont know if the young for the most part group of receivers can be effective enough. Maybe a wily vet, Amani Toomer, can save the day. I see similarities in the Gs D too so there wont be a lot of points scored here.
Figure the G-Men to be a 5 point favorite. The Andy Reid/Donovan McNabb lovefest lives for another week. IGGLES 20 G-MEN 16
And finally we have.....
SD@PIT{4:45pm et CBS}-This is probably the easiest of the 4 games on the slate to pick. I just dont see the reasons to pick SD here. LT is not gping to be a factor, Darren Sproles, love him but I dont see the same success he had yesterday. And Philip Rivers will be on his back plenty to boot.
Stillers win this game primarily on the ground and a swarming harassing defense, lookie here, just like the Ravens!!!
Pittspuke a 8-10 point favorite, back it up by winning 24-10.
HAVE AT IT BOYS!!!

Cold ones ready for that.
I am really looking forward to the Giants-Iggles...
Prefer the Giants, but the Eagles would be good too...it should be a barn burner of a game!
Here are my proposals to change the overtime rule:
1) make the winner have to score 6 points in OT to win the game (a TD or 2 FG); make a safety in OT worth 3 points; would ensure the opponent at least touched the ball once unless the receiving team marched the length of the field from the OT kickoff in which case they deserve to win; also would tend not to cause the game to be decided by a pass interference penalty.
2)use the basketball format for a predetermined time period (say 7 minutes)-the team that scores the most points wins; with 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning it would be difficult for 1 team to monopolize the ball for entire OT
3)prevent teams from kicking a field goat to win the game if they do not get to the 15 yard line of the opposition.
4)Reward the team with the most TD’s; if tied the fewest turnovers: if tied the QB with the higher passer rating—at least give the ball to the team based on strict accomplishment rather than strict chance.
5) go to a ‘hockey shootout’ concept of 3 players from each side calling the flip; this might sould ridiculous but how ridiculous is it that coaches get fired on the results of a flip of a coin!
